I swear, its like they don't want us to learn and get an education. I lived in California for the past 4-5 years, and while I went to one of the top 500 schools in the country (Adolfo Camarillo HS), when I moved to Virginia, I felt completely unprepared for it as the HS im going to is like one of the top 100 schools. Im not blaming it entirely on the school system, part of my un-prepardeness is my fault, I'll freely admit that, but my question still stands, why does it get cut first?

It's because school budgets are left up to the counties and towns to pay for them, which don't have as much money to spend as the actual federal government.
