In the U.S. why is the school budget always cut first?

I swear, its like they don't want us to learn and get an education. I lived in California for the past 4-5 years, and while I went to one of the top 500 schools in the country (Adolfo Camarillo HS), when I moved to Virginia, I felt completely unprepared for it as the HS im going to is like one of the top 100 schools. Im not blaming it entirely on the school system, part of my un-prepardeness is my fault, I'll freely admit that, but my question still stands, why does it get cut first? •
Posted by: MadMax888 *shrug* They decided history, english, and math were the most important, and science could be cut. This was for elementary and middle school, though. High school kept their science teachers.
English and Maths are the most important subjects no matter what.
