It costed Chief Cortana to stop the Didact temporarily, his best and possibly only friend gone to delay him. I feel like in the end Chief will give his life to defeat him.

Do you seriously think they are going to kill that important of a character off screen and in the first introduction? It was even said before halo 4 that his involvement in the [b]trilogy[/b] would be interesting. Don't even get me started on the fact that a single pulse grenade wouldn't kill him (since it hardly kills anyone) not to mention he [b]is talking at the end of the game[/b]. jesus.[/quote] I'm with Grey on this one. Also, in the terminals the Didact was going through mutations to see if his true form would be immune to flood infection. Saying no to this, another Forunner said what about the Composer, and the Didact replied "It wouldn't work on my form." Also, he fell into the portal, the slip-space rupture for the Composer which sent him to Requiem so basically he survived.
