Lets Discuss: Video Game Stories
Good ol' VG narratives. Sometimes great, but mostly pretty meh.
Why is it that games like Bioshock, RDR, Bastion, To the Moon, and many other games have great narratives that keep the player engrossed even after he or she has stopped playing? What do you enjoy in a VG story? What stands out for you? and what are some great examples of great story telling in Video Games?

I'm still sore about Mass Effect 3's ending. I had like 6 or 7 other characters that I built during the first two games and I have no desire to beat the game again. ME3 was great, just ended badly. [Edited on 01.07.2013 11:36 PM PST]
