Making Sense Of It All

Am I the only one here who thinks there's a logical explanation for every deviation from the mainstream universe, because some days it awfully feels like it. While I realize 343 had to take some artistic liberties when they were designing Halo 4, I personally believe there is a logical explanation for everything they did... well, mostly everything. My own headcanon suggests that the Jackals in Halo 4 belong to a subspecies of Jackal I would call Monitors, who were simply Jackals who went down a different evolutionary path than the common Jackal (the subspecies I dub the Vulture). Monitor Sniper helmets are different because Monitors don't have the elongated snout of the Vultures. Stuff like that. So, do you think there's an explanation for everything?

I personally don't mind the changes; it makes them look like Uruk-Hai which is a worthy aspiration in my book. Fierce, strong and powerful creatures
The Uruk-Hai are uncivilized, unclean, bloodthirsty, violently aggressive, savage, cold-hearted killers. They serve no function but to kill, and have no desire to do anything else with their time other than fighting. I wouldn't exactly say that this is a fitting aesthetic to be portraying with the Elites, much less a worthy aspiration.
I guess you're right. Not the best thing they can be but I'm okay with it. It works but only for now.
