Video Game industry officials summoned to gun-violence summit

I was reading an article about White House plans to curb gun violence via a variety of restrictions, but that isn't the part that concerns you; the Flood has enough such threads where you can redirect your attention. What interested me as that the article said the following: "Biden has also scheduled a meeting with representatives from the entertainment and video game industries." So I have two questions. One for the Flood and one for any Bungie employees pursuing the forums. First, why do you guys think they would invite industry officials to such a summit? Now Bungie, were any of you invited? EDIT-For anyone who is curious This is the original article. •
Posted by: MadMax888 It's not the gamers fault; it's the game. But as soon as it comes to guns: it's not the gun's fault, it's the shooter's. Pick a side, people.
I will always and forever blame the murderer and the murderer alone. It's his fault he he killed those kids. Not the guns, not video games, but his fault. We need to be looking for ways to better improve how we identify and threat mental health conditions, and no that does not mean shoving more pills down their throats. We need actual treatment and actual help for these people.

 • Just another step in the government plan to take guns away from civilians and leave us defenseless when the time comes.

Books and movies are not.
Remember that dark knight rises shooting a while back? The guy responsible called himself "the joker, batmans arch nemesis." I didn't see everyone hating on DC comics and Chris Nolan for weeks afterwards.

It's just 1 gigantic form of censorship.
Oi, you can't allow romantic stuff to exist, a lot of it includes nudity or nasty words. No way that our kids can be allowed to hear/see that kind of stuff. /America
So we are stuck with comedy....But that has bad words and dark humour. Guess we should just ban everything to do with entertainment.

Random Bungie Employees visiting the forums rarely even comment on the games that they make, they definitely aren't going to take an official stance on this, not to mention that they are unlikely to know if anyone from Bungie got invited. They just make games.

 • Its not the gunners fault for pulling Teh trigger its clearly the video games and movies. On a serious note, if more restrictions are put on games I still doubt anyone would follow them. [Edited on 01.08.2013 11:28 AM PST]
