An account merging system

With all this talk about Bungie.next coming out and the possibility of such things as name changing being allowed, there has been something I have been thinking of. I originally changed accounts over a year ago due to a dislike of my name, losing my title and all. If name changing is a new feature in Bungie.next, I would like to go back to my old account. However, I really don't want to lose everything I have done on this account either. That's why I am hoping to see a system that would allow you to merge accounts together, their posting history, groups, ect. Would anyone else like to see such a thing in Bungie.next as well?

 • I think this would be a welcomed feature, but most likely won't happen.

 • It is a good idea, but as Deej stated before .they are well to far in to bungie.next to start trying to implement new idea. I'm not to sure if the webteam has any plans for this, but it's a good idea.
Only two things are worse than an 08: An 07 and an 09. You're better off as a 10. Anyways, if Bnext is coming this month, it's probably a bit late for new features. And it seems like that would be a really, really, really niche feature so... eh.
Though BS's first couple sentences are a little off, he does make a good point. I wouldn't hold my breath for a feature like this. It's something that doesn't affect the vast majority of the population here, and it'd be more trouble than it's worth. •
Posted by: burritosenior
pffffft.. OT: I don't think it's even possible to do what you suggested, you just have to choose which account you are going to use.

 • Other forum software such as vBulletin (from what I remember) had an account merging feature. I don't think this idea is completely out of the ball park, but I wouldn't expect it. But who knows, the Webteam could have implemented it on bungie.next. Only time will truly tell.

 • I suppose it is useful, but I imagine that may have some flaws.
