Sure button combos and super bounces were fun they weren't necessary to the game. I really don't think it would suffer from a lack of them.
It wouldn't suffer. A Halo 2 remake wouldn't be a Halo 2 remake with them. It is there for nostalgic reasons. Plus IMO, buttom combos brought to the table a new type of skill. I mean I sucked at BXRing and someone who actually is good at it should deserve to use it.

Good or bad, adding something like the terminals affects the impression of the game. There's no denying that.
No it doesn't, I can't even explain how much sense that doesn't make. If you don't like the terminals then don't watch them, they have no impact on anything whatsoever.

 •
Posted by: Munck1n The only way I would want a Halo 2: anniversary edition is if they made the game this time like it was shown in the E3 2003 demo.
YES! That would be the only time I'd ever be ok with something being retconned. Or would it be restored, seeing how it was the first we saw of it? Yeah, I'm more comfortable with the latter, so the latter it is! ...

 • I am hopeful that it will be made. But if it doesn't include a faithfully recreated MP it won't be worth a buy. I played through the campaign on my old Xbox copy a couple of months ago.

 •
Posted by: Rocketman287 Why would 343 (or Bungie for that matter) remake Halo 2? 343 made Halo Anniversary because it was the 10th anniversary of the game.
Halo 2's ten year mark is coming up and it would be pretty stupid to leave that game (which has so much story content) not be graphically updated. Um, The Redoing the graphics doesn't take as much work as making a game. This could be done in under a year if that.meaning this can be done by a small or spin off team in between games.

 • Why would 343 (or Bungie for that matter) remake Halo 2? 343 made Halo Anniversary because it was the 10th anniversary of the series and wanted to introduce new gamers to the game that started it all. Now 343 are working on their own trilogy. Halo 4, 5, and 6. So, why would they neglect their OWN games to remake someone else's?

 • Yes, I wants it! But, unlike Halo: CE which I didnt do much multiplayer with except locally, I LANed the hell out of Halo 2. So I want to multiplayer back too.

 •
Posted by: the real Janaka I think they should wait until they can remake the entire original trilgy in to one epic game. It would come with some hard decisions though, such as which design one should base the overarching models on for instance, but I imagine it could be an amazing experience to play it as if it was a single game (especially if one hadn't before).
Hell yes, agreed

But the terminals in Halo 4 were not very good at all imo.
CEA's Terminals were excellent, especially since they gave substance to a character who had hitherto been treated like an absolute joke. 343 Guilty Spark was developed brilliantly. What's wrong with Halo 4's Terminals? They do a very good job of further exploring the Didact as a character and filling in some of the things the main story didn't cover. The one where the Didact talks to Forthencho and confides that they're terrified of the Flood was excellent, his motivations were made perfectly clear, not to mention several characters from the novels were finally given a voice (like Faber).

Skulls on the other hand...

 • I had some minor complaints with Combat Evolved Anniversary but I'll be damned if it wasn't some of the most fun I had in 2011. It marked the fourth time I purchased that game. Once on Xbox, Once on PC, once on XBLM, and then Anniversary. As for Halo 2 Anniversary? I would buy it but I feel as though they aren't going to do it. I recall an interview with 343 before the release of CEA where said they were not planning on doing Halo 2 Anniversary. But he also said if there was a high enough demand for it the team would definitely consider it. I think there is not a strong enough demand from the community at this point. I know most if not all Halo fans would love to see it, but I am not aware of any organized messages to 343 at this point. And while I feel people would be interested, I always thought Halo 2 multiplayer is what made the game for most people... but I know they will not recreate multiplayer as it will split the community of their current games, thus creating a hoard of complainers. It would seem somewhat cheap to sell Halo 2 without multiplayer, and I feel 343 knows this and will not make the game.
