Whats the line between trolling and jokeing ?.
Interacting with fellow B.Net users it seems some feel entitled to Use that blue bar or Grey as if some of us are not a bit older in the tooth. They feel entitled.
With that being said at what point does it become trolling. Same joke told over and over wears on peoples nerves. Some subjects are not funny.
Some would say i am jealous but really i have gotten older and wiser. I am sure i out age most posters on B.net being more of the ages of the forum ninjas.
So at what point does a topic become trolling to how to take a joke. Today some one even thought they were being funny on a post. So is it OK to post about people you do not know ? If i did the same you might not take it in the same light.
Thoughts or Opinions would be welcomed.

You just posted about people you don't know. Is it okay? You tell me. If you come here and can't take a joke, or notice satirical posting, then you have quite a while to go. Admittedly, there are users, namely myself, who do posts jokes or insults far too often, and probably cross some sort of line here and there, but I've paid my dues plenty of times, and I'll definitely feel the wrath of the ban hammer quite a few more times while I'm here. But that's just what happens sometimes, so you just gotta go with the flow, and enjoy your stay here.

I pointed it out becuse i get the joke but i am unsure if it is a quiet troll attempt. I pretty much go with the flow i can take a joke but the question is are they really trolling ? then jokes on you. Not allways who you know but who you can trust. In fact, context has everything to do with it, and I would say that context on this forum generally allows for quite a lot of joking around, and silliness. Add in some bad trolling here and there, a couple bad jokes, and we pretty much are limited to obvious trolls and spam.

Bad trolling is typically just an ineffectual attempt at inciting anger, etc. and leads to laughter. Joking is specifically to incite laughter. Trolling IS joking. It's only when the person does a -blam!- job of it that it becomes something aggravating or something else. More like being a twat.

It was a harmless joke perhaps but what if i took it the wrong way. Or they meant it as a way to troll. Its the format of it. Lucky i am not a person to get bent out of shape. With age comes maturity meaning most old people have seen things once or twice knowing better to do the same. I used it as an example. Not to ridicule them or if it was a prank do the same. In the end i do not feel disrespected so i let it go. Not going to sweat over some kids thinking to be cool.

Trolling is funny to watch, but you can tell when it's a joke fairly easily. Usually comes from users that have been here for awhile and they have many posts filled with witty sarcasm.

It's all subjective and as such the line varies between mods. Common sense and good taste should let you know if you're getting close to crossing that line.

Want to know the difference? If it's a good troll, you won't even know you were trolled. Some people here, however, like to pretend that they're trolls. You can spot those people easily.

I have always considered trolling to be an act that provokes an angered response with intended malice. Joking is just like Foman's mother--easy and pleases both parties.
