Titles: If you're given the choice, would you 'Opt. out'?
It seems pretty obvious that the 'title' system implemented here on Bnet is a behavioral modifier. Their function is to inspire newcomers to Bnet to become functioning members of an internet community. You did your homework, Timmy? Here's a shiny sticker.
There was a time when I was fascinated with the prospect of gaining and, with the help of some satirical threads on the topic, flaunting a title. I'm sure many of you at some point shared this sentiment. It's in our nature to express accomplishment and the title is our means to do so.
Despite this, I have found that as you gain more experience with Bnet (or forums in general) the title system loses its novelty. It loses its relevancy as users stop conducting themselves according to some construct and move towards conducting themselves on their own free will. While I agree with the systems intent, I do not agree with its current 'ball and chain' policy.
I believe that when a member reaches this point they should be given the option to 'opt out' of the system. What static title might replace the variant is really up for debate. The best route, in my opinion, is to just to remain Grateful Zebra | Member. However, they could range from Grateful Zebra | Dead Orbit to Grateful Zebra | Master Forum Zebra.

tl;dr:
If you were given to opportunity to opt out of the current title system, would you? What static titles would you like to see offered if such a feature was implemented?
