First time since it's launch to not hit the top 20 games played on the xbox live activity list.
This is truly the beginning of the end for Halo 3 :(

Search times are longer at lower levels because most of the retards moved on to Reach, or Halo 4. There's more 50's playing than anything else at this point.

Halo 3 was a great game. I miss the many sleepless nights playing this game.

I don't think Halo 3 is going to die over this, actually. A lot of people have already given up on H4. They'll come back to Halo 3. Sure, it will die someday, but I don't think it's going to happen quite yet.
-
go play a much lesser known game OP, H3's current numbers r not that low and it not being top 5 is irrelevant

I know that for a fact. Most likely it has never been off of it till now.

I will be a while before it becomes "dead"

I can't shake the feeling of nostalgia that I get when recollecting Halo 3. So many countless hours of time invested into that glorious game. No matter what new game comes out, I always find myself returning to it.

Such was said about 2.

HALO 3 W1LL NEVAR DIE.
Posted by: FinalHazard006 How active is it? Impossible to find custom games, it looks like it from the forums? What about matchmaking? Does it take forever to find games even in the more populated playlists?
No, it's easy to find games in Lone Wolves, Rumble Pit, Big Team Battle, Social Slayer, and Team Slayer. Team Mythic, Action Sack, Team Snipers, and MLG can take a while. Team Doubles, SWAT, and Multiteam are somewhere in between. [Edited on 11.30.2012 12:26 PM PST]

I follow Major Nelson the last few years because of reading the Sales specials in advance and I never have seen it out of top 20. It wasn't below 16 until this past summer.

It would have helped if Bungie had consolidated playlists. You know, like they said they were going to do before Reach came out, over two years ago. Wait, they did remove Squad Battle. I guess that was their big plan to keep Halo 3 functioning properly. If only 343 cared enough to do so.
Posted by: Mythical Wolf That method is one of the worst and annoying methods out there. You'd be better off spamming your friends list or posting in the forums.
How many friends do you have online at any one time? I only get around 15, and if they are not already playing with me then they are happy enough doing their own thing. As for posting in the forums, if you're already playing the game why would you check the forums looking for someone to play with? By the time someone sees the post and wants to play the chances are you won't be still online. Inviting recent players is the most sensible, just an invite after the game to see if they are interested. By spamming I mean going down the recent players list sending one invite to each person, rather than picking one person and repeatedly sending them an invite).
Posted by: FinalHazard006 How active is it? Impossible to find custom games, it looks like it from the forums? What about matchmaking? Does it take forever to find games even in the more populated playlists?
People aren't going to join custom games from the forums, you will be better off spamming recent players. I'm still finding games very quickly in matchmaking. It took less than a minute for a full lobby at 2pm GMT, which should be one of the least populated times in the day (9am east coast usa, 6am west coast).

where did you find the current list at?
-
It may not bounce back, but there will always be loyal fans playing around.
-
Halo 3 is taking the path that Halo 2 did. A few years after its release, playlists die down to the point where only 4-5 playlists are active enough to get consistent matches in. (TS, SS, Mult.Team, RP) and a few moderately active ones. I hope it never dies, but all great Eras come to an end at some point... [Source - Britain's History]

I hope its not dying, I had a itch to play Halo 3 today and put it in after last playing it in April had so much more fun and less rage than what I have been having with Halo 4 and plan to make it a regular event among the many games I'd like to get back on.
