...Which OS would you choose?
BEar in mind the OS would run at broadband Internet speed (Post Windows 95) and come pre-installed with Microsoft office '10.
I'd choose Windows ME. I honestly love this OS, it's stable for me and runs incredibly smoothly.

I use windows now but have always wanted to be a linux user, plus linux gets free updates so I can stay up to date with the latest version. Also... I heard ME was one of the least secure/stable microsoft os of all time. Also how do you run any modern programs on that...
