Carbine and BR need to swap aim assist.
BR has more aim assist then the carbine while carbine has next to none.
I've been going over this scenario in my head.. Carbine Vs BR strafe-fest.
Carbine is likely to lose as he has to keep his no-aim assist rifle reticule over a tiny head while the BR can just spray away because of its 3 shot burst and has aim assist backing it up.
You can say I need to get better with the Carbine all you want, and quite honestly I'm working hard to learn this new wizardry, but everytime a strafe fight happens I just miss my shots ALOT, then end up getting picked off by them sweep headshoting.

I understand but you have to remember that the carbine is a mid to long range weapon whereas the BR is a mid range weapon. Plus, the carbine has more shots and better accuracy for each individual shot. A bit of good training can go a long way. However a bit more aim assist for the carbine would be nice, considering that I though the carbine was going to be the s**t, when it wasn't. Also, DMR = overpowerd noob gun. The needler is harder to use than that thing.

I'd like to use the Carbine more too, but it takes so long to do any significant damage.

'How bout you make the BR 4sk, Switch the Carbine Auto-aim with the BR and make it a skill weapon on par with the balance seen in Halo 3 with the Carbine and BR. Limit the DMR fire-rate to prevent super spam. [Cause we can spam with greater accuracy than Reach now!] or and weapon drops....erm maybe for novelty/BTB playlist, breaks the balance. Oh yeah Instant respawn erm yeah...thats a no-no in competitive gameplay' Yeah, instead they said "OMG the BR is BACK it's definitely the weapon of choice! 343i is really catering to the skilled gameplay seen in the past series. They added the DMR for longer distance blah blah. instant respawn, FASTER KILL TIME FASTER KILL TIMES!!!! JUST LIKE HALO 2 and all that crap" If they stopped sucking 343i you know what, we could have actually got changes which were more fair. As a result they could have had a huge competitive game. Which would have meant MLG would florish again just after it's Halo decline after Halo 3. And Skill would be the emphasis again.

All that MLG advertisment crap into more weapon balance. Argghghghghg pissed me off, I thought they knew what they were talking about, but they just -blam!- sold-out to generate hype. That's the real kicker. I should have just had zero expectations from the start then OMG is asking for a somewhat balanced weapon sandbox too much to ask with Halo 4.

I would say the reduced auto-aim is compensated by higher rate of fire and thus, a quicker kill if you are skilled enough to pull it off.

Yep..Can't believe I let that guy convince me into not selling it. As much as I dislike COD hell I might just buy that, atleast all the guns are viable most of the time.

I too wish the carbine was as powerful as advertised. I had heard that to balance it's most demanding aim requirements of all precision weapons it had the fastest kill time. But the DMR still kills faster if both players hit all their shots.

But suppressor beats AR at close range. Thats just it though, close range. Try mobility and a magnum secondary with autoturret. I do quite well with the suppressor.
