Bungie's Next Big Thing at VGAs?
I think Bungie will show a reveal trailer for their Next Big Thing at the VGAs on December 7.
If the Activision/Bungie contract released earlier this year is to be believed, then Bungie's next game will release next year, and I would assume it will be released in the fall. That's less than a year away. I don't think we'll get a ton of details before the year ends (as much of the marketing blitz will fall into 2013) but I think we will get a reveal trailer for the game before 2012 ends. It may even be a teaser without any in-game footage like Bungie has released in the past (i.e. ODST and Reach).
It seems like it is getting close to being in a publicly showable form. There have been plenty of tweets and references to Bungie playtesting the game.

I have exciting plans for the weeks to come.[/quote]I think we are just weeks away from getting our first glimpse of the game.
With the VGAs being a showcase where a lot of big games have been shown in the past (Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, etc.), and only about four weeks away, I think this may be it.

"Weeks to come" could mean anything. If they show anything, it won't really be descriptive. Maybe a live action short depicting the atmosphere/background story of the game.

I have been hoping to see something at the VGAs for a while, although realistically it won't be anything more than a teaser trailer if we do see something.

It has already been stated by DeeJ that there will be no announcements, regarding Bungie's new IP, in 2012. Also, Bungie will never announce their next project at something as silly as the Spike Video Game Awards. Certain employees at Bungie do not even like the VGA. [Edited on 11.12.2012 12:36 PM PST]

Well I sure hope the community is given exclusive rights to [i][b]FIRST[/b][/i] glimpse of their new IP, then the world can get a second glimpse from the VGAs.

IT would be a great way to end the year indeed, I'm going to cross my fingers and toes for that to happen, also it's on December 7 so, it has to happen right? RIGHT?! Either way we are closer and closer to it's release date.

As much as I'd like to hear info about their next game, I think Bungie could do a little better than the VGAs. When their next game get announced, I want it to be in the center of it's own spotlight.

Bungie's big and all but they don't really have the brand power of Rockstar, Valve, or Blizzard.

Announcing at the VGA's would make some sense... it would be a very... "Activision" thing to do and if there's one thing I don't mind them involved in it's marketing with bottomless money piles.

I hope they will show something, but Bungie taking their time to do a really magnificent job will always be more important than a preview. Anyway I suspect they might show something late this year or maybe early next year.
