Ive figured out the Legendary ending for H4 (Spoilers)

Spoiler... ...the Didact's speech at the end of Halo 4. The speech is from before the Didact was imprisoned. It is the final thing the Didact says before being imprisoned. I dont have the whole speech to put into text, but you might remember some parts that support this.

 • Makes sense. Also, his speech is: "In this hour of victory, We taste only defeat. I ask why. We are Forerunners, guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations, has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms... And the impervious shelter beneath which it has prospered. I stand before you. Accused of the sin of assuring Forerunner ascendancy... Of attempting to save us from this fate where we are forced to... Recede... Humanity stands as the greatest threat in the galaxy. Refusing to eradicate them is a fool's gambit. We squander eons in the darkness... ...While they seize our triumphs for their own. The Mantle of Responsibility for all things belongs to Forerunners alone! Think of my acts as you will. But do not doubt the reality. The reclamation... has already begun. And we are hopeless to stop it." [Edited on 11.10.2012 8:05 PM PST]

 • That's just the ending. There's nothing Legendary about it.

 • I don't think so - he's dead when he's imprisoned, the Librarian shoots him.

 • I was under the impression that he says all this after the events of Halo 4, perhaps to other Forerunners who have survived.
"In this hour of victory, We taste only defeat. I ask why.
Their hour of victory is seeing the Flood wiped out, but human supremacy is a defeat to the Didact.
I stand before you. Accused of the sin of assuring Forerunner ascendancy...
He tried to do this in Halo 4 by Composing Earth, a clear violation of the Mantle.
Of attempting to save us from this fate where we are forced to... Recede...
He doesn't want the Forerunners to fade away now the humans are 'top dog.'
We squander eons in the darkness... ...While they seize our triumphs for their own.
Makes it pretty clear this is said in the present. The Forerunners have spent aeons asleep, in the darkness - in this time, we've taken the Forerunners' achievements and made them our own; Infinity, slipspace drives, shielding, and so on.
The reclamation... has already begun. And we are helpless to stop it."
This is the 'Reclaimer trilogy.' We weren't Reclaiming anything back when our ancestors were fighting wars with sticks and bronze spears; it's only now that we're realising our legacy, and Reclaiming what was stolen from us by the Forerunners - the Mantle. And the Didact feels the Forerunners are helpless, since their numbers are probably extremely thin and they lost the Composer. It seems pretty clear to me that the Didact is speaking after Halo 4. He made a slipspace portal under the Composer for a reason - he intended to go somewhere with his Promethean army. Another shield world, perhaps, where more Forerunners lie in slumber. We haven't seen the last of them, nor the last of him. That's why the science team in Primordium is trying to learn what they can about the Didact. 'We have faced the Didact before, and now, and perhaps ever after. This is combat eternal, enmity unslaked.' [Edited on 11.11.2012 3:13 AM PST]
