It has always gone: 1) New game announced 2) "This is why this game will ruin the series" 3) Fanboyism/professional reviews from The Flood 4) Game comes out, the hype dies 5) Rinse and repeat But the thing is, is that the forums are very quiet these days. It seems like the H4 business has gone on for quite a while. The only other time I've seen this much conversation over a game in The Flood is for COD. And even then, it didn't seem like near as much, and for as long, with Halo 4. If I have some rose on my glasses, can someone give them a wipe down? I'm not complaining about this at all. Just observing that it does seem like there's been a lot of Halo 4 chatter. [Edited on 11.07.2012 10:14 PM PST]

This site is full of people who have been devoted to Halo. So naturally, a large number are playing the new game. What's different this time (compared to past halo releases) is there is no dedicated forum for them. This may not have been as severe or noticeable with other game releases because other games aren't directed toward the audience that came to this site.

But yeah, this happens every time a new big game comes out. Added to that, this one is even more special than usual due to the unique circumstances we find ourselves in at Bungie.net.
