Why does the Halo: Custom Edition community suck?

See thread title. Just taking a look of the servers of Halo:CE on a weekend shows that the majority are playing stock maps (such as Blood Gulch, Timberland, etc) without any modding, akin to just playing vanilla Halo Combat Evolved. The ones that actually have custom content are always empty. What's the deal? Why would people download and play Custom Edition when what they're doing is basically playing Combat Evolved?

 • Because most people simply pirate Halo Custom Edition. It's the easiest way of getting the game. You can also do more with Custom Edition than you can with base Halo: Combat Evolved. Also, Halo players always choose -blam!- gametypes/maps to play. Check every available Halo game that has some sort of server browser. Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo Custom Edition and Halo 2 XBC/Xlink Kai/Vista are all in the same situation. It's a real pain in the ass... :D

 •
Posted by: Dr Syx
Posted by: JunkyMonkey
One word: Racism
Although he may be being a bit too specific, he does have a sleight point. Every time I join a match where someone's name is Juan and I see "JAJAJAJAJAJAJA" ever few seconds tends to end up in a laggy crap fest. They lag across the map, insult you, can't aim, and can't understand you if they are on your team and you are trying to tell them to pick up the damn flag because you have them covered. (true story) I suppose the same could happen with anyone, but the people south of Texas seem to cause the most problems.
