National Taco Day!

I did not have this on my calendar! But I think that lunch and perhaps even dinner are now decided. Anyone else celebrating with a glob of happiness wrapped or nestled in a tortilla? How do you like your tacos? Where do you like to get them? Make them yourself? Share in the goodness that is the taco.

 • I had some really good shrimp tacos at a local eatery in my town, it was $15 for three of them with a side of refried beans... Expensive but it's good.

 • Having taco's for dinner tonight. I usually take a soft taco shell, put cheese on it, put a hard taco shell inside and then heat it a bit. Then make the rest of the taco.

 •
Posted by: abelsinh Taco Day as true tacos? or that -blam!- from Tacobell?
There is a sliding scale, if a chain taco place is all one has available (and is not inclined to make their own).... so be it. Here in the Dallas metroplex, we have dozens of various taco, enchilada and other chains (large and small) that sell the little wonders. One that just moved into the area (I hear that it's bigger out west) is Del Taco. Which is slightly better than the other two main national chains that you can find everywhere around here (Taco Bell and Taco Bueno). If I am going out and it's not "serious eating", I love me some Fuzzy's Tacos.

If you ever come to mexico, I suggest you try the mighty "Tacos de carnitas" It's like the best meal ever. Its called South Beach Bar and Grill. Its right at the end of Newport St. The tacos are so good it ranked #2 on the Food Network as the best Tacos in America. No kidding. They are cheap too. $2 a taco.

Doesn't matter if it is a sit-down dinner, a strip-mall shop, a walk-up window or a truck/cart on a street corner. Good tacos can happen anywhere.

 • Well... Considering there isn't a taco place in the whole Sweden that I know of, there really isn't a choice... And I like to dip the nacho chips in taco sauce and then put on some meat on top of that, and to finish it all off, a put a bit of a sliced red pepper on that nacho. That's exactly how I like my tacos. Also, taco fridays!

 • :P It can be taco day for me any day I want it to be. But really, every country should be flooded with real Mexican taco stands on every single corner. It is only right.
