"We're dark, but you still burn bright."

You: "Hey Lobster, I think I've heard that or seen that somewhere..." Me: "Look right." That is correct, those beautiful 7 words that grace the ad spot where many ads have come before is what we have during these dark times. Now, I know this may seem a little out of the blue here but follow along with me for some camaraderie. Think about it, what happens when you click the add? That's right, you are linked to the Community Forum. The dark Bnet Epicenter. This is where we burn bright, have fun, make friends and organize gameplay. This idea of burning bright is what impacts me most and shows me how important we are as a Community, to Bungie. You may have come across, in this progressive and ever-fleeting 2012 world, the term to burn bright. If you've ever read Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 you may be familiar with this term or if you've ever been in touch with some emotional strife or been giving someone else advice, you may have told them to burn bright. The fact that Bungie sees us as burning bright, as carrying the torches, as the ones creating a livable, loving place where we call home is what hits home with me. It lets me know and enables me to reflect on how great this all is. Every day. So, Community members, whatever you want to refer to yourself as, I would like to know a few things. What does it mean to you that we burn bright in the eyes of Bungie? How does it make you feel to be here and be appreciated? Are there any kind words of your own you'd like to share?
TL;DR: We are awesome and appreciated, answer my questions.
• I've said it to many people, and I'm happy to say it again: in my opinion, there is no developer that puts more effort into interacting with and being part of their community than Bungie. It's a special kind of company that makes its supporters such a high priority. Bungie is one of the few that does, and it's why Bungie remains my favorite developer.
How does it make you feel to be here and be appreciated? • I wonder how many variations of this thread we can make to drive Bungie just nuts. (Please don't do this people.) That will teach them to go dark ha ha! I think it's safe to say we have a pretty good core of loyals here. ~Delta

 • For some reason I think Bungie is going to reward the ones who have been active during the darkness. One of my favourite things about Bungie is that I feel like my voice is actually heard. To them we're not just a mob of people, but actual individuals. [Edited on 09.29.2012 7:07 AM PDT]

 • I can't believe that they would pay attention to us and the smaller details on a level that most of us have come to believe. They know we are still here...waiting, but I think they just say burn bright as a fob off excuse as to why they don't see us more. I mean, I know we have the weekly breaking in's and mail-sacks, but it just feels like a drunken dad who's never home. He comes in once a week to tell us to burn bright, but he hasn't got the time to sit down and talk. But hey, we're big boys now, gotta get through this on our own. :P

 • It's not really burning bright, I'd describe us more as a dim torch, with really low batteries. [Edited on 09.29.2012 2:14 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Lobster Fish 2 What does it mean to you that we burn bright in the eyes of Bungie?
I like to think that we're fueling them. We're burning bright, like some kind of power system pushing them toward making the awesome universe they're making. It's rekindling the passion they have for their project every time they visit the forum, and perhaps we are inspiring Bungie as much as they inspire us.
How does it make you feel to be here and be appreciated?
I'm proud to be here, and happy to be a part of a community that has gotten smaller, and more close-knit since the darkening. I am happy to support Bungie in whatever way I can, and being here apart of this community I feel is good for both myself, you guys, and them. I love being here with you all, and I'm so happy to have a home like the Septagon. • TBH the community forum is extremely boring IMO. It's mainly reposts all day everyday, posts about how awesome Bungie is and Bungie scenario threads. Not to mention the fact that it moves excruciatingly slowly. This is why I mainly post on the Flood. However, the Bungie Community is awesome. And it feels nice to know that we're appreciated by Bungie.

 • To be here is kinda like having a second Family. I haven't been on B.net in a while, but every time I come back here it always gives me a warm feeling. Like knowing that you're around people that want to do the things you want to do, or discuss those topics that not everyone at your home, school, or workplace want to talk about. And when a company like Bungie is able to give me that feeling that I am part of this community that helps out each and every day to help this place grow and thrive successfully, Then you know their doing a damn fine job of making me feel important.
