A Halo era Bungie Policy regarding inactive accounts was that a year of inactivity resulted in the deletion of ones account. Upon handing Halo over to Microsoft, it was decided to abandon this policy. The policy change makes sense as it allows former Bungie fans to flock back, without any issue, come the announcement of Destiny/Comet. I was wondering, will Bungie ever revert back to this policy? Is there good reason not to?

 • There's no reason, unless the site can't handle the amount of users, to begin deleting accounts again.

 • Unless they allow the changing of usernames I think they should bring it back. Because if not names will be taken and cannot be used.

 • Well I took a LONG break and I would be really sad if this account was gone upon my return.

 • I doubt they will bring it back. It didn't really have an advantage in my opinion. Imagine if you were Fabled Mythic or whatever and you took a one year break. [Edited on 08.07.2012 3:42 PM PDT]

 • I can't remember if this is correct but after an account was deleted wasn't the username available to use again? If it's true then that's the only reason I would bring it back. Unless memory became an issue (which it isn't).

Especially for spam accounts.

It had the same name and everything. [Edited on 08.07.2012 3:47 PM PDT]

 • I believe that feature has been turned off for a good while now, perhaps even before Bungie went dark? The entire "I'm returning to Bungie.net only to find my account is gone" might not be too huge of an issue.

Just an example.

 • Account deletion on inactivity is gone for good.
Posted by: Sven Nietzsche Also, I have an old account on here whos e-mail I forgot. • Rejoice! I love looking at really old threads, users, and groups. It's kinda a mystic, eerie feeling, like seeing some subterranean ruins beneath a bustling city.

 • Forgive me for the month old "bump" but,
Posted by: Achronos Account deletion on inactivity is gone for good.
So even a "manual" account deletion process isn't up for discussion? Even on accounts that were made solely to take the name of a Bnet account, an have yet to post or even sign in again sine their accounts creation?
