If you could add one thing to ODST, what would it be?

Title for reference. If you could add one thing to ODST, what would it be? ODST is a great game as it is. But, isn't there that one thing that you would have loved to see in the game? For me, it'd have to be more ODST missions. Either like Spartan Ops or part of the campaign. I love playing as an ODST and would have liked more of that in different scenarios and areas.

  • it's stand alone multiplayer infact the expansion maps included in disc 2 except using Halo 3: ODST's engine, not Halo 3's, Ghost Town would be an interesting level to play as Marines

I would have really liked that. I initially thought that ODST was going to include mutliplayer, Forge, custom games, and the like before not much was known about it. Anyway, I think it would have offered an extremely fun, new, and fresh online experience for Halo.

  • I would add two things 1. Custom firefight. I am sick of having to fight drones and put up with forced skulls. With this I could turn off skulls and make it all brutes 2. Elites in the campaign. Perhaps a mission where elites are helping you

Elites have just been betrayed and they're not going to be so open to the humans after fighting them for so long. A mission(s) like that would have extreme potential. They could create a whole story out of that. Maybe one of the squad members killed one of the Elites brethren and that's revealed through flashbacks or something. The possibilities...

  • [u]Silenced weapons effect on AI[/u]. In CE, there is a noise level that is even more effective than the CE's sniper. But it wasn't turned on because it's too effective. Even if you're right in front of the AI, the AI doesn't seem to see you until it's too late. With a little tweaking, this could finally be used and drastically improve ODST's immersion. This is how it would work: Shoot AI from long range (4x zoom), if it's a headshot kill, other AI won't notice that their buddies are dying. Otherwise, they'll notice but their alert level will be temporary. Grunts will go back to sleep. Shoot AI from mid range (2x zoom), AI will notice and will remain alert but still won't notice you unless they spot you. Some Grunts will go back to sleep, some Grunts will be awake. Shoot AI from close range, AI will be looking in your direction but it will take them a while to spot you, giving you some time to get up close or move to another location. All Grunts wake up and possibly go into panic. [Edited on 05.14.2012 11:34 PM PDT]

Sure they were cool and fun to use, but all in all...It was just the same as they were unsilenced. The enemy would always spot you. There was no real stealth in the game. That didn't make the game any less awesome, but it sure as hell would've made the game a lot better and more fun experience.

Survival would be more realistic because its consistant And for the elites, perhaps a mission where you come across a bunch if elites and then you comd t a truce

We've really had no contact with other UNSC forces throughout the ODST campaign, so that could be interesting.

A mission where The Rookie is in a Banshee, flying through the city buildings (Not above them, say, Half-way up from the ground) with multiple Phantoms chasing you, and fire from the ground in order to reach one of the mission triggers.

I could be totally making that up also...[/quote] I'd also make it so that not only the SMG and Pistol are silenced. There are many more weapons in the game that are unsilenced, so it would've been nice if something like the Sniper Rifle was silenced. That could've been a really fun mission. Along with the silenced Sniper Rifle, I think a better Sniper mission in general is something I would add. I love the ODST campaign, no doubt. But, the mission where you play as Romeo did not feel like a Sniper mission at all. It was too close quarters for you to really use that Sniper very effectively.

  • In the real world, a true silenced weapon shoots subsonic bullets (<1100-fps). Silencing a sniper rifle would subdue the boom of firing (not eliminate it), but it would not affect the crack of the bullet flying through the air. At 1000 yards, the crack of a supersonic bullet passing overhead is far-far louder than the boom of the rifle heard in the distance.

Sure the ODST would die faster and don't jump as high and all, but that doesn't make it like CoD. ODST's don't die in three seconds, is what I'm getting at.

  • I can't decide between one so I'd add 3: >Sprint (would make more sense for ODSTs) >Specialized missions (ODST ops basically) >Increase the length of each mission by 20 minutes Competitive multiplayer would suck because of how slow the ODSTs move.   • I think it would have been awesome if ODST had its own multiplayer, forge, and dual wielding. If it did, I think it would have been the best Halo game ever. Maybe the weapons sandbox would have to see some tweaks to make dual wielding possible, but I think it would be awesome.
