Here is the thread to post all things CEA, as we don't have a forum for it.

Classy. How is it anyway? Not willing to put down 40 for a game I already own.
Posted by: HappyMeals Classy. How is it anyway? Not willing to put down 40 for a game I already own.
I do like it, as I sold my original CE some time ago. The graphics are really pretty, though the models are a little clunky as they still run off the original engine. I haven't played much of it, because of MW3. I would say rent it for all intensive purposes and make your decision then.

Feel free to discuss any aspects of Halo: Anniversary in this thread, including the campaign, multiplayer, and story elements. There will be spoilers. (Halo dies.)

Are the marines still team killers with their grenades on The truth and reconciliation? Had to kill them all because they kept throwing grenades at me and keyes when I fired up my old somewhat scratched disc.
-
the game brought back so many good memories. =)

It's a shame Halo had to die in the end, he was the best protagonist ever.
Posted by: HappyMeals Classy. How is it anyway? You can also do CO-OP over Xbox Live, too. The multiplayer maps are good and the zero bloom is decent, but I do not prefer it.

Halo died? damn.. I thought eh was a pretty cool guy and he liked to shoot things
-
The terminals blew my mind

I find all these other remastered games to be rip-offs. CEA is the only HD remake that truly IS a remake, not just the same game remastered with PS2 graphics that only 'slightly' looks better (moneywhores). This IS what Halo would like in the current generation. For $40, how can you argue? 343i did a great job with the game, and I would say they are an innovation to all who wish to remake games.

(Halo dies.)
Not Halo, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO We barley got to play as the Halos, how can mr halo die.
-
Posted by: urk (Halo dies.)
Halos never die, they are only missing in action.
-
Posted by: Rosenkreuz I would say rent it for all intensive purposes and make your decision then.
I think you mean, "for all intents and purposes"? I really, really, like the game. That's pretty much all there is to it.

I never bought the game but i watched the terminal videos on youtube.. they seemed interesting but what do you guys think about the third ship being on the ring and what alien force could it have been? (if any)

This thread needs some advertisement. Lets face it, the Halo 1 forum is dead if not close to it, and besides one minor discussion you had in the Community Forum there's no way people could know this thread even exists. I recommend a Bungie employee post something like "Hey, want to discuss CEA?", along with a link to this thread in the Universe and Reach forums. I'm only saying this because I love CEA, and I feel this thread isn't getting the recognition it deserves. [Edited on 08.13.2012 3:02 PM PDT]

I actually liked Anniversary a lot more than I thought I would. Its all the other little things I liked, since I've already been wanting Halo 1 XBL coop for almost a decade. I'd pay more than $40 for it... just don't tell 343 that.
-
If this isn't the most useless thread I've seen created I don't know what is.
-
Honestly, I enjoyed the campaign remake. Switching back and forth betwee the 2 graphic settings gets a bit addicting after a while. I'm also glad to see that 343 made an attempt to add some new material to keep the original fresh but still retained Bungie's original. I keep playing the multiplayer maps and giving them time. So far, they're turning out great.

Fun game.... The ark rebuilds halo caulph.. caulph.... Woops wrong game. Halo 1 is my favorite out of the series thoe.
-
The ONLY problem i have with it is that they completly left out the Origial Multiplayer for Halo CE. i wouldnt of cared if they didnt even do a graphics overhaul or didnt even add any online function to it. but to JUST NOT have it in the game at all kinda makes me left feeling cheated in a way. even if people said the gameplay was "unbalanced" i would of been content with custom- invite only games with friends. i do like the Reach remake maps...... but in my opinion you should never try to pawn off Reach multiplayer for Original Halo CE Multiplayer gamplay.
-
Supposedly they would have had to change gameplay to accommodate online play. And that they didn't want to split the population between playing CE and playing Reach. Even though Reach is -blam!- and everybody knows it.

To: chickenlittle Apparently not to a crap-load of other people, if you had concerns about this game then this thread is not useless lol anyhow... To everyone else, remember the maps: sidewinder? and chasm? I had my hopes up for this remake, it's the multi-player matchmaking... I wanted to see those old maps remastered! I was hoping they'd keep the gameplay the same as the campaign for multi-player online but instead its just Halo:Reach's multi-player with new maps thrown in... which is fine but they could have made a different "mode" for the original Halo:CE gameplay, WITH ALL of the old maps in it. I think that's what Bungie would have done. That would have been amazing... But 343industries probably didnt have the permission to do that to Bungie's masterpiece. Anyway I didn't look into this before buying it because i wanted to be surprised at all the new shiz but oh well, atleast the campaign is absolutely gorgeous.

Fantastically remastered. I really like the sounds of the Sniper, Warthog Turret, bullets bouncing off Jackal's sheilds, etc. Plays very well and the graphics are quite beautiful. I will wished more people played the Classic Stuff online and not the "butchered" version of the maps with retarded things like AAs and bloom.
