Panzie saves the flood pt-23(camp)

Link to previous chapters ^^^ link to previous chapters King harlow passed the crowd of anti-war protesters with a sneer. If they couldn't handle a buildup in military arms, they would certainly riot if he mentioned the battle to come. The secret would stay between him, his generals, and the various counts and countesses of the flood. He scanned the area, Around him, the brown and white fields of beef jerky corn and bacon root stretched outward for hundreds of miles, broken only by the occasional farm house. The gold russet of beef jerky corn dripped with grease in the sun. It would be an excellent harvest this year. Harlow checked his small unobtanium short sword and continued to the staging camp for the invasion. The journey was long, but eventually Harlow's entourage hit the light slope of a hill and began upward. Atop the hill, several tents and mulling soldiers danced in the mid-afternoon sun in busied concentration. Several of his own honor guardsmen sped up to reach the hilltop before their king. A nice safety precaution in case of an ambush. Albeit not quite as quickly as Harlow's guardsmen. Harlow's group headed toward the largest tent. It was green and brown, and had 40x40 floodian flag fluttering on top. Inside, various royal furnishings adorned the tent. A gold lamp near the wall burned with a small, useless incandescent light. Almost too small for harlow to sift through the papers lain about on his desk. A trickle of building permits compared to those he had to deal with in the castle, but the stack more than made up for it with troop estimates, supply shortages, road and movement assesments, and one very angry cabbage farmer. Harlow sighed and pushed most of them away for review later tonight, one of them caught his eyes. A blue envelope used for quick messages. It was from Garland, the grand general of the flood armed forces. He read it silently to himself using the small light above. To harlow We need to increase volunteer and draft inductees, Our air force needs them severely. I have also been contacted by several groups willing to assist in our cause, they will be here tonight. Harlow crumbled the paper and stuffed it into his pocket. He truly hoped none of this was required, but bungie had to be stopped. Harlow placed his palm to his forehead and strode away to speak with the various leaders scattered throughout the large complex of tents and bedrolls. Panzie watched harlow arrogantly walk away. If he had the power harlow had over his subjects, he would have formed a crew to stamp around and clear up some of the trash and haphazardly thrown weapons that were making the camp look like a pigsty. Panzie's gloved hand touched the pommel of Achronos' blade. He yanked his hand back and yelped at the confusing mixture of burning heat and freezing cold. Panzie slipped the blade from it's scabbard and fliped it in his hands. Something about it made him want to throw it away, but the weight was surprisingly negligible and it had the feel of something that would never break. The large, wide blade was stained with an evil crimson and charcoal black. Panzie feigned a slice and the blade sung and slid through the air like a buttered snake. He deposited the sword into the sapphire encrusted scabbard he had a blacksmith craft for him. Panzie jerked as a hand grabbed his shoulder tightly. He spun a 180 and his eyes brightened with glee. It was rogue. He was glad to see her, she looked content. Panzie noticed the drips of sweat falling down her snout and realized she had been training. She smiled a large, toothy grin. "Your turn hubby," Panzie smiled under his helmet, knowing rogue would be able to see it somehow. "Ok, I suppose it's time to show off.just a little bit." Rogue coked an eye. "Now don't get full of yourself, There is some pretty stiff competition out there." She laughed at the statement as soon as it left her large, razor filled mouth. Panzie tipped his helmet and stood from the cheap wooden bench. Black heart, his name for achronos' sword, swung loosely in it's scabbard slapped against his leg. Panzie stretched and walked into the massive forest of tents that made up the soldiers' living spaces. He recognized faces from Eros among the countless Sapphirians, SSOians, Coupsters, bronies, and the occasional furry trying to be as scarce as possible. Dirty tents of blue-white, red and gold, plain brown, wooden posts, and blue and gold prevented any view of the surrounding area, a vast field of grass. the rich farmland soil had long since turned to packed dust from the thousands of feet traversing the camp each day. The entire camp was almost claustrophobic. He continued through them, making sure he didn't get lost again. Just as he was prepared to turn back and try another row of tents, cheers erupted from near one of the larger, royal aide tents for Gazz. Panzie followed the noise. • Panzie cleared a row of large, ornate tents and stepped into a large clearing filled with soldiers of various counties and mercenary groups. Panzie shuffled his way through the crowd of soldiers until he entered an empty station. Surprisingly, it lay in the middle of the field of training soldiers, but was empty save for a group on the edge of the clearing. Seven new-flood warriors were lounging around. Until they saw panzie. A single new-floodian, nimrod, stood in front of panzie and crossed his arms. He was much taller than panzie, but had the face of an upturned trashcan. "Noof only, no noobs" Panzie coked an eyebrow and tried to muffle his amused laughter. "Oh, so it's funny. Well I will have to fix that." Nimrod grabbed panzie's hand with the speed of a true professional, then bent it to induce pain. Panzie winced. "What are you doing, that kind of hurts." Nimrod furrowed his brow. "GET, OUT, NOW" Panzie couldn't contain his laughter "no" Nimrod roared and flashed a kick at panzie's head. The blow landed, but nimrod was grounded on impact. "wtf" Nim charged and struck with a heavy haymaker, but it to did nothing. Panzie grabbed the old-floodian by the waist and forced him to walk back to his group. Unfortunately for Nim, they were laughing hysterically. Panzie dropped Nim and kicked him the remaining four feet to his group. Several of whom were pounding mercilessly on their knees as they laughed at him. Panzie turned his attention back to the field of targets and fight dummies. Unfortunately, Nimrod was so red in the face, he looked like a burned tomato. With a roar, he charged panzie and pulled a Large double bladed axe from his belt. Panzie shifted his weight to strike with a punch. As nimrod swung the axe, Panzie punched it, sending it flying with a bent blade. Panzie twisted and kicked the stunned nimrod in the chest. He landed in a heap near his fellow new-floodians. They weren't laughing anymore. Panzie, content with his victory, and confident nimrod wasn't dead, took aim at one of the targets a short distance away, and focused energy into his open palm. Rainbow fire engulfed his hand, and a more solid part of the fire began to form in his palm. A small multicolored ball that danced with its own light in the mealstrom of blue, yellow, red, green, and purple fire. Panzie stretched his arm back, then threw the flame wreathed ball at one of the standing dummies. A blast shook the earth and an explosion comparable to a pair of TNT sticks, destroyed the manaquin in a spray of wood and stuffing. Splinters pocketed nearby manequins like dusty porcupines. Panzie spent several hours practicing his accuracy. As quick and ranged as the blasts were, they were very draining. After only a couple dozen, panzie was already sweaty and panting. A crowd was starting to grow. Good, if they were going to fight, let them know the power that was on their side. He caught his breath and willed more energy into his palm. The fireball danced, and panzie held it back to throw. Immediately, the earth shook. Several of the floodians standing and watching fell, but the shaking came as a surprise to everyone. A few tents fell, but the severe tremors subsided. Panzie pulled the energy back into his body and looked around, trying to find out the source of the earthquake. Nobody seemed to know, but there were tents collapsed throughout the camp. He walked through the small crowd of floodians, asking anybody if they knew. They seemed to be as surprised as he was. His data pad lit up and buzzed out a guitar solo. He checked it. "Numnuts Meet me at the council tent, You're needed. -Rogue" Panzie deactivated the data pad and jogged toward the main tent in the camp. He would probably figure out what was going on there. Kezia saw the tent flaps to the council tent open with a swish. The heavily armored panzie entered. He looked around. He was likely as confused about the earthquake as they all were. Everyone had felt it. Hell, the council tent had almost fallen down. Kez turned to gaz, who was assisting wyldefire in nailing support bars to the fractured wooden pole that supported the massive fabric tent. Harlow sat farthest from the entrance, he cracked his knuckles. "I now call this summit to order. Now, as you all know, we have just encountered a large tremor. Unfortunately, we have no known origin, other than it simply being a normal earthquake." Gazz paused nailing boards. "This region has never had any recorded earthquakes, at least none we know of." Harlow nodded. "correct, which makes this such a strange occurance. Still, we have more pressing issues to go over. As you all know by now, we are moving to war. I admit, we should have already formulated a battle plan, or hell, even scouted a bit. But that is the purpose of this meeting." Harlow waved at one of the servants near the entrance flaps. The stepped outside, and two floodians entered. One was very crisp looking. He was short, fairly pasty, and looked every bit the nerd his moniker "mister math" implied. The other was taller, and tanned, with a thick black beard hugging his face. He seemded to be as well knowledged as his fellow. His name was garland. The two floodians strode toward the circle of leaders, then began pulling charts and instruments from a set of duffel bags near a table set centrally in the tent. "Mister math, and garland will be the head generals in our army, From here on out, they are my right hand men. Mister math will deal with logistics, and troop order and file, as is his preference. Garland, being well versed in military strategy, both modern and ancient, will be our lead commander and primary tactician. I expect each and every one of you to listen to him. His ability speaks for itself. Garland, take the floor." Garland cleared his throat, then removed the grey CSA hat from his head. He spoke in a haughty, deep Virginian accent. "right well, it has become apparent that bungie does not know of our forces, at least not yet. Which leaves us in a good position. We know they are planning an attack on the capital, and that their army is larger than any we have seen before. Or at least as the intelligence of the ponies and furries has uncovered. So far, somewhere far from the city, bungie's forces surround it. Their attack cannot be far away. We believe the attack on the city will be catastrophic, or even complete destruction." He coughed "We believe that our only option is to attack in one strike. We have to hit them, before they hit us." He karate chopped the air. "Chop off the head of the snake before it can strike" Kezia raised his hoof "Wouldn't their main city be defended like a hornet's nest?" Mister math cut in. his voice was quieter, thinner, and crisp "We realize this, but their main force is undoubtedly far larger. Our army can barely attack the city, trying to fight off their main force, even in the confines of our city, would undoubtedly prove suicidal. We don't have any other option available, pardon my French, but without this, we are completely boned." He sat down. The circle of leaders began to converse. Panzie listened and spoke, mainly wondering what his wife would say. He could tell by her tightened eyes, she was formulating a plan. Eventually she began to speak. "We can take a small force, capture a fortified position and draw the forces from this city into an offensive attacck. I've never known bungie to back down from a chance to assert their dominence. Then, when they attack, we send in our main force to take the city while they are drawn out. Bait and strike." A wave of agreement rippled through the council, even Spartan agreed. Maybe he was getting warmer toward his furry allies. Panzie smiled under his helmet. That's his wife, smart as hell. Eventualy, a plan was formulated incorporating rogue's idea. Now they just had to make it to the flood city without being seen. Rogue stood and began to leave the tent. Panzie stopper her. "what's wrong." She smiled. "Nothing, I'm just feeling a bit ill. Please babe, make sure they don't turn into idiots while I'm gone." Panzie patted her on the shoulder lightly, then sat down. It was going to be a long night.

 • I was always able to do "fire" punches. it's been three years since panzie's last fight. leads to reason he(and some other floodians) will have learned a few techniques.

I should practice more with them after this. Sorry if shoulder/arm angle looks off, I'm very amateur to drawing. I may or may not get in the Elvis stuff, your choice. Maybe I will, now that I see the cape is already there. And don't worry, there will be color!
