New poll at HFCS!
The moderators were recently discussing the possibilities of having the "Member" above our forum avatars changed to reflect our moderator status. I listed a few possibilities. Go over to [url=http://seventhcolumn.bungie.net/perlbin/blam.pl?file=/fanclub/10481]HFCS[/url] and vote! Or, if you have a better suggestion, post here. =)
Also, I want your guys' take on titles. I can't promise anything, but I would like to know if a title other than "member" would act as incentive for users to participate more in the community. What do you think?

Excellent idea Shishka. I thought it a bit strange that you moderators still had Member as the title. The idea of member titles, too. Ambitious, but I'm sure it would bring out the best in people.

Cool idea. I bet this would work well, especially with younger members though; give them something to aim for thanks to good forum behaviour (and yes, I am a teacher! Who would have guessed it!). I'd be a bit worried if it got looked upon as 'favouritism' by the Mods. It would have to be done in a suttle way, but it's still a cool idea. I've spent a load of time here since i joined, so i guess it would be nice to get something back. :) [Edited on 8/18/2004 4:34:22 PM]

Yeah, that would be awesome. But only if they were good users. (Ex: Davester would not be getting a title.)

As Achronos and Sketch have pointed out before, Bungie is looking at making a system that rewards users for being a healthy part of the community without creating a barrior between veterens and new users. How people go about earning these rewards and what rewards will all be available have yet to be described, but I imagine part of it will be titles other than just "Member." How people will get these new and better titles, though, I'm not sure.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. It would make it more appealing for new guys to post good stuff and would probably increase member sign-up levels.

Ideas for members: Construct Mods' Lackeys Leader (simple but gets the idea out if you're a useful poster) Flaming Bodyguard (okay, starting to stretch) Fish Food (...and stretched) I voted for Flaming Ninjas for mods. I need numchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. Girls like guys with skills.

[i]Minion of Achronos[/i] is just too -blam!-ming cool. Archronos is the overlord, and the mods serve him directly. So to me, it makes the most sence.

They could have special titles for those who have 1) been ninjafied X number of times, 2) been here for X amount of time, or 3) deserve a "special" title for whatever reason. Like Anton P Nym could get Volunteer Worker for all his volunteer police work. Just my thoughts though. [Edited on 8/19/2004 1:40:26 AM]
