If both were to face against each other with standard equipment, who would win?

 • The Imperial Forces... 1) Emporer class ship will tear through the UNSC fleet like it's tissue paper... ALONE. 2) Space Marines vs Spartans. Space Marines - A Chapter master is godlike. Thats not considering the fact Grey Knights are of similiar caliber and you then also have General Captain who is on par with the emporer... - They cant die from blood loss. - Power armour can protect from rounds size of your leg... Spartans current equipment wont do much. - Explosive Rounds - Focus/Power weapons (Powersword, power fist, Thunder Hammer, Deamon Hammer. In order of str.) - They have "No fear". Debatable. Spartans: - Armour abilitys... I guess. Thats about only advantage UNSC Spartans have. Let's compare.. John-117 to... Chapter Master Calger. John-117 *fires BR into Calger* *Calger stands their and shakes it off, hits John-117 with Powerfist* *John-117 dies* [Edited on 01.28.2011 4:46 PM PST]

I want context on that scene, less I just insult your education :)
To be honest I never really thought that the Spartan would win...I'm just here for the lulz.
... •
Posted by: Frauka
Posted by: ROBERTO jh and......your validity in this discusion just hit the fan. Congratulations! You officially confirmed that you are unwilling to accept the power of the Halo universe! Thus, you are no longer a viable factor in this argument. We need unbias in this.
Ahaha, this is rich! So, because I refuse to do work you lazy bastards have to do, I lose validity? It's also funny you didn't say the same to your friend who said that Spartans would win regardless of all the evidence against it. Also, you three actually believe a ground force can destroy the crust of a planet? Really, you three literally know less than nothing about basic physics. Go learn high school physics, energy densities in particular, and figure out why you have made yourselves look daft on this topic. But if you're lazy, I think I can explain it; the yields you speak of would create fireballs that engulf the planet multiple times over, destroying everything, but not before turning it into a giant wave sent hurling at massive speeds. The entire planet has storms of plasma, and the surface is thousands of Kelvins.
Just stop. You're not going to win this against them. I'm done now, only coming for the idiocy of it all now.

The entire planet has storms of plasma, and the surface is thousands of Kelvins hot. The Flood would NEVER be able to survive or stop that, making any ground combat impossible for them. Even the Onyx Shield World Sentinels couldn't match anything nearly that powerful in their thousands. No, they created megaton explosions then. I guess normal Forerunner troops are superior to even them, right? As in... making mass extinction events with their standard weapons. Do you still defend this idiotic claim that ground forces can crack crusts? I think it's safe to say that these weren't ground forces, but instead things designed exactly for what they did. Also, yeah, this topic is about Spartans vs Space Marines. So, I guess we can put this to an end and get back to that, alright then? [Edited on 01.28.2011 4:38 PM PST]

Also, it isn´t that the IG are that weak and flimsy, it´s that the other things just have such a retarded amount of firepower.

 •
Posted by: Ociee You assume that a SPARTAN who has been trained since childhood would be dumb enough to attack an opponent that is much stronger than him.....SPARTANS are masters of guerrilla warfare. If it weren't for you and how you've clarified it, I'd still be ignorant. Thanks, Wyld.

 •
DO YOU WANT ME TO POST THE ENTIRE F**KING BOOK!?!? GO READ BUY THE DAMN THING YOURSELF....everything I have said was in Cryptum...
Oh sure, I've posted a large amount of quotes. I don't tell you to read the W40k books, now do I? Oh, and no. I don't read Halo novels anymore. • Wow, Wyld in a 40k thread. HAVE NO FEAR, THE 40K NERD IS HERE! Right, let me list the fuctions of the SPESS MEHREEN gene-seed. 1: Secondary Heart. Kinda obvious. 2: Ossmodula. It alters bones to be retardedly strong and makes the ribcage fuse into a sheet of interlocking plates. 3: Biscopea. Growth Hormone stimulation. 4: Haemastamen. Creates ultra-efficient hemoglobin for oxygen transport. 5: Larraman's Organ. Creates cells that can seal wounds within seconds. 6: Catalepsean Node. Sleep On/Off switch. Also allows SM to stay awake for 2 weeks STRAIGHT without any side effects. 7: Preomnor. De-con chamber for food before it enters the stomach. 8: Omophagea. Literally allows SM to learn by eating brains. 9: Multi-lung. A 3rd lung that allows the SM to breath in ANY atmosphere. 10: Occulobe. Eye enhancer, allows SM to view into infra-red and ultra-violet. 11: Lyman's Ear. Makes SM immune to dizziness and mind altering sounds. Can consciously filter out sounds too. 12: Sus-an Membrane. Allows SM to enter stasis to survive lethal wounds at any time. Longest stasis was 567 years by a Dark Angel SM. 13: Melanochrome. Alters skin pigment to protect SM from radiation in all forms. 14: Oolitic Kidney. Emergency blood filter system. Can completely purify SM´s blood from poisons and venoms within minutes. 15: Neuroglottis. Ultra-taste buds, SM can track by taste alone as well as recognize any and all poison immediately. 16: Mucranoid. VACUUM. PROTECTIVE. SWEAT. 17: Betcher's Gland. Acid Spit. 18: Progenoids. Creates new gene-seeds. 19: Black Carapace. Allows SM to interface with armor to a LITERAL second skin degree. They can feel anything on their armor as if they were naked. Now add at least a CENTURY of experience to this list. That´s the minimum in most chapters until SM get their Power Armor.

No longer will the Halo-verse get trashed by the other Sci Fi universes!
Ok, in that case I raise the Dark Eldar, Eldar and Chaos. Your argument is now, in fact, invalid.
Precursors move in. Both of them shoot each other. If my assumption these guys you listed are gods is correct, then we reach a paradox, making this fight impossible to conceive. (Precursors are invincible to all forces. Read Cryptum)
Actually, they're races. Although the Chaos Changer Of Ways, Tzeench, is beyond a god. He can create, manipulate and destroy gods. Basically, the only reason he doesn't just erase existance in the 40K universe is because it amuses him.
lol at Changer of Ways. I can imagine a guy eating "Jesus Popcorn" while watching the Precursors and Q paradoxing each other in oblivion. But either way, the only thing that can scratch Precursors are the Halos. Elsewise, we have an eternal paradox resulting in a default tie.
