  • Yes you can. There is not a huge population left but you can still find a game. I usually setup a game and wait for people to join. Before you know it you have people joining left and right. Pick it up, and join the fun.

  • I may pick up a copy when I next get paid. Never got to play H2 xbox online becuase of some restriction on my Xbox account that MS apparently cannot remove.

  • Microsoft says, if there is enough people on H2V, they'll support it again, and release an update, which will be applied to Halo 2 Vista, Halo 2 Vista Server and Halo 2 Editing Kit. Details of the update are: Online Co-op Major revamp of the netcode Halo 3 gametypes added Servers and clients to have console commands Optimize graphics more efficiently fix "joining" game lag dynamic detail update of the game browser. more variety of tags in the H2EK. lol. The Halo 2 Xbox matchmaking and party system defined the online gaming universe. It changed forever, and it was all because of Halo 2. Nothing will ever be the same. • Halo 2 Vista is Halo 2 Xbox's evil twin brother, entirely done by Microsoft, completely unsupported by them or Bungie. Buy at your own risk. It has never been patched for all the bugs and missing features it has. Do you like the idea of having the game crash because some script kiddie didn't like losing in Slayer? When are you gonna stop complaining about how you can't run the game on your computer?

Almost all the regulars in Halo 1/2 PC forum have issues with the game. Even a MS support rep ran into problems trying to find Live game sessions. Maybe I just have higher standards than a lot of people. The computer I have runs high-end, standardized hardware that works with almost everything. I really believe it's a mistake to go out and buy the Windows version of Halo 2. I'm not saying that for my own benefit. If you want to make me the bad guy for calling out how terrible H2V is and warning people, instead of focusing your ire on the company responsible, that's your problem. Save your money and get Reach instead. [Edited on 05.09.2010 2:42 AM PDT]

  • Not everyone wants to buy a rrodbox 360 though. And even though h2v has bugs, it is not "OMG WORST GAME EVAH" like some halo 1 fanboys want to say it is. Even then, that happens with everything. One person has problems with something (like drm for example), then as soon as something has this, they magically start having issues. Look at DRM whiners for example. THe people with no problems dont say anything, but the people who whine the most are heard the most.

  • Halo 2 Vista is the worst Halo game ever. It does it's best to limit custom content. I think many of the Halo 1 PC players are pissed about it not being allowed for Windows XP, and how the H2EK is the most crappiest map maker ever made.

  • My parents wouldn't buy me an xbox until my Birthday two years ago which was four months away at the time. What did I do? I gamed out on Halo 2 vista and had dreams about halo 3. It was so much Joy. CTF on cogulation that lasted 3 hours. :) A small but friendly community.

  • Yes please play H2V. Good game and if you are no good with keyboard and mouse then use a wired xbox 360 controller! The only thing is that it needs variety since 90% of the players only play CTF coag.

Still its the evil twin we gotta live with now. Once you get used to the flaws, its actually enjoyable.

  • The major problem is, the release of Halo 2 for Vista was strictly a ploy by Microsoft schemers to convince people to buy Vista. I think it was planned from the beginning to put as little time, money and effort into the port as possible. Doing anything more would negate the money made from tricking people into buying Vista in the first place. It's really sad to see Halo 2 used in this evil way. [Edited on 05.15.2010 10:32 PM PDT]
