Uhh why did Bungie steal one of my maps?

So I created a map a while ago...10-11-09 to be exact, and it was originally called "Pit Jr. v1" but apperently Bungie thought they could just take it and say they created it and they renamed it "PIT JR." Now I spent a good 4-5 hours on this map...and frankly I dont like the fact that Bungie would do that. My friend told me about this today and at first I did not belive it...but he then sent me a pic of it and this pissed me off. He was also a partial creater of it too...he created the middle bridge to it. He told me that he played the so called Bungie map and told me it was an exact replica. Now I know it was not a perfect map thats why I called it "v1" (version 1) I was going to later fix up the sniper spawns and fix up the middle section of the map. The map should say "By AZN11X" that was the gamer tag I originaly had when I created it...its now "ix Cejj xi". Now some Bungie member better speak up about this or I soon will be sueing...because this is rediculous. I have proof that it is was mine in two seperate pics on my cell...and soon in video. Anyone that doesnt belive me try to download the map from my fileshare. It will contain the original map created by me..not Bungie.
Posted by: AZN11X To me this is just like giving health care to illegal immagrants. They dont contribute at all by paying taxes or anything at all, yet they still get health care. Bungie didnt create the map, granted they provided me with the game in the first place, but yet they still get credit. At school they provide you with books and teachers, other companys provide the other school supplies but in the end you buy them and at that point those things are yours...teachers dont own your graduation papers you do...even though they provided you the skills to get the papers.
>:| I'm just going to save the OP any further embarrassment and lock this now.

 •
Posted by: AZN11X It says "Bungie" just like all their other maps. And just because its their content does not give them the right to take it and make it theirs. Thats called plagiarism my friend...and last time I checked thats illegal...weither its their content or not.
If you can honestly take up a court case that will cost you lost of money with bungie over an in-game map variation without feeling like a silly dork, I don't know whether to admire your bravery misplaced as it might be or to pray for you since you have no life.

 • Stop trying to get attention. You did not have a map stolen because you have no proof of the map that "you" made. Nor the map that Bungie calls "PIT JR." No proof= fail

 • I think the guy that stole your map, goes by the gamertag of Ghandi 2. Not sure, but I think so...

 • Ok this is what happened you made a map, then someone with the gamertag Bungie saved over your map. End of subject and this doesn't belong here anyway, and don't cry if you know you made the map then why worry about it I mean come on.

 • May I ask how you know it was Bungie that stole it? EDIT: Please bear in mind that I haven't engaged in any Halo 3 related activities for about 6 months now. If the question is ridiculous, I probably know why. [Edited on 04.18.2010 3:12 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: chickenlittle That, and I'm sure somebody created the map before you. Tone your ego down a bit.
That's like saying, "I'm sure somebody wrote 'Thriller' before Michael Jackson, who cares" I don't get why you guys are being so hard on him, it's a legitimate complaint. Sure he could've stated it a little better but he does deserve some kind of answer.

 • First of all, you would be much more professional if you were to read this. Especially the part about what should go in the Halo 3 forum, and not in the Bungie Community forum. And second, there's really no reason to argue. Because your dealing with Bungie's copyright game, and whatever you create in the game is legal property of Bungie, you wouldn't have much of an argument to stand on. Sorry. Even though you may think it's not fair, it's the law. And sometimes it may not be fit to suit your specifications. But if you still feel like making a big deal out of it, you can still contact Bungie through here. Oh well. At least you still have your pride! And most of all, your ego! : ) [Edited on 04.17.2010 11:11 PM PDT]

 • OP fails. Hard. Not only do they completely and totally own all content, but they can bar you from even accessing it if you violate the Terms of Use. That, and I'm sure somebody created the map before you. Tone your ego down a bit.

 •
Posted by: angeldep Sure it's Bungie's game and content but if what the OP says it's true he should at least get come kind of recognition for creating the map. The OP probably cannot file a lawsuit but he does have a case that should be dealt with in this thread.
Someone else giving you a pat on the back is great, but giving yourself a pat on the back is fun too. Some things are plenty fun to do all by yourself.

So even if Bungie stole your map, which I highly doubt, you cannot sue them, nothing illegal has happened.
