Halo Comic Books
Has anyone read the Graphic novel/Comics? I think theres 3 different comic series now..
Anyway i was thinking about buying them so i'm wondering if they're worth reading

I have to agree I don't really like the art work for HGN or Uprising. I haven't read them yet but I do like the art in Bloodline and Helljumper a lot more.

I have mixed feeling about the HGN. I liked generally liked the Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor, although I wasn't thrilled by the art in places. Didn't like Armor Testing. Liked the art for Breaking Quarantine, although I wish the story had been longer, given that there's still a fairly large gap between the end of Breaking Quarantine and the destruction of Alpha Halo. Didn't like Second Sunrise over New Mombasa. The art pieces in the back of the book were cool. I was disappointed by Uprising(Only read the first issue and flipped through the collected version in the bookstore a few months ago). I really disliked the art for the inside of the Forerunner ship, and didn't think much of the story that took place on Earth. Was more interested in hearing about what Ackerson was doing on Mars than his brother running around on Earth. Haven't read Helljumpers or Bloodline, but might pick up Bloodline if they come out with a trade version.

Its not done that well, its really hard to tell whats going on. It makes you rely a little to much on the dialog to figure out whats going on.

The "Infinite Succor" story was kinda interesting, but the art style sucked. The rest of the stories sucked and I didn't like the art styles.

After buying all of them i'd say in terms of quality it would go in this order. Halo Graphic novel > Halo: Bloodline > Halo: Uprising > Halo: Helljumper. [Edited on 03.17.2010 1:27 PM PDT]

Halo: Uprising and the Halo Graphic Novel (obviously) are both collected in trades. I haven't seen a trade of Helljumper yet, but I might've missed it. [Edited on 03.16.2010 4:28 PM PDT]

I disagree. I believe that their "skunkworks" version is actually more of a prototype of the Mk V.

Read up on the Articles linked [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=42043134]Here[/url]. Personally I enjoyed the Graphic Novel a lot. I've since bought Halo: Uprising (HC) and Halo: Helljumper (HC) I've only read part of Helljumper issue #1 and so far its pretty intense. Uprising is an interesting side story for those who have read TFoR and First Strike. As for Blood Line, its becoming a great story as well. Read the summary I made in that link up there. As for Black Team's time line, they have Mark VI Protoype armor(They have shields as well). So it has to be around or during 2552.. As the Spartan IIs only got their Mark V amours in 2552. There is no real way to tell when Blood Line takes place. However, an estimated time frame can be concluded judging by two important factors 1. Team have a variation of MJOLNIR armour that can be assumed to be designed after Mk IVs fielding but before Mk V. Roughly 2530 (pure guess) 2. The assumption that their mission would be irrelevant after the Covenant found Earth and that they were fielded on another mission in September 2552. So there is a roughly 20 year time frame. But that is all irrelevant. The story is self-contained and the exact date is unimportant.

Dont forget Blood Line with Spartan Black Team. They are a pretty interesting bunch of characters and there is some good story telling from what I have read so far. Only one left to read though... :(

The Halo Graphic Novel is great, and the artwork at the back is very nice. Uprising tells a nice story, but it doesn't explain how Master Chief get to Earth as much as a civilian story. It's still a good read. Helljumper is alright. Kinda disappointing ending, but full of ODST badass. And you get references to The Fall of Reach, and Spartans in it too. And the main characters are from Halo:ODST, so it kinda deepens their characters too. They're worth getting, but only if you have spare cash lying around. They aren't a must read, except for the Graphic Novel.
