I'm going to try to be as polite as possible, because this is obviously a question that...well...someone who has the mental capacity of a gold fish would ask, so here we go. Basically, the achievements which you are refering, can only be obtained in a FFA (Free-for-all) playlist. Which means you're most likely going to need to play some Lone Wolves. To select the Lone Wolves "URL" (For future refernce, this is called a playlist) you must go to matchmaking, and select the playlist from the Ranked subsection. At this point, you can click the start game button. If these weren't detailed enough, try looking at the guide book that came with your Halo 3 disc, that should tell you how. NOTE : You must have a working internet connection, and be subscribed to Xbox Live with a GOLD account.

Mongoose mowdown is only obtainable through the Lonewolves playlist. which is where you need an xbox live account. seriously though dude(the kid that cant figure out what "online-only" means for an xbox) if you cant figure this out, then you are too young to be playing anything above a Wii. i mean really. if you dont know what online only means, and you think you need to go on a computer to get it, u are either real dumb. or real gullible. sorry. thats the truth.

When it says 'online' , you are right that it is talking about the internet. However, you are not thinking about it right. You can get to the internet from your xbox. That means that you can play halo on the internet from your xbox against other people. Put your halo disk in and wait for the menu to come up. Choose matchmaking, and then choose start game. It will take a few minutes to find people to play against, but it is fun.

Make sure you are signed in to Xbox LIVE on your Xbox 360. Make sure you are playing Halo 3. In the main menu, choose Matchmaking. Just play around and meet people.
