  • Mission Statement

DoD Harbingers is a PS4-based clan belonging to the Dads Of Destiny Alliance. We feature friendly, mature members who understand that playing Destiny is important, but not as important as a good work-life balance. Joining our clan means that you'll always be able to find someone to help you "push back the darkness" and you can rest assured that when you have to leave Destiny to change a diaper, warm a bottle, pay attention to your spouse, or go to work...we will be here waiting for you when you return. Life takes point...but we have your back.

Potentially useful tactics/strat-guide from the DoD main forum...

There is a certain enthusiasm voiced in this that I find entertaining, but take it with a grain of salt...the real world is not Destiny. That said the author put a lot of effort into it and more than a little of this may be applicable to enhancing your team's communication. Have fun! • Good info, but prob confusing to some. I served as an Infantryman in the 101st & things never go according to plan once troops are in contact. The best thing to do is keep it simple until you are familiar with who you're working with out there @ launch.

    • To clarify, I'm not saying that these are things we should do as a clan, I'm just sharing an interesting tidbit from the main DoD forum. This not required reading! ;)

    • That is so in depth we could probably just tape it to our playstation and it would be able to do the rest. I know military tactical officers that couldn't come up with a plan of attack as developed as that one.

    • A lot on movement techniques; I think they might be a little hard to follow in Destiny. Of course, I shouldn't talk, my unit in didn't follow doctrine much in Iraq when we were there, lol. More useful, I think, would be the concepts of "bounding overwatch" and "battle drill 1A". Bounding overwatch is a movement technique where you split your group in two (or more) elements. One group moves forward while the other element(s) are in position, prepared to engage any targets that may appear. A good application in Destiny would be where a sniper and another heavy weapon person are in a good position while a bunch of rifle-toting guys move forward. When the rifle toting guys are in a good position, they pull out the big guns while the other element then moves up. "Battle Drill 1A" is a concept where again you have two elements, one in front of the other. When the lead element gets engaged, it establishes hasty fighting positions and lays suppressing fire. The second element makes a large sweeping maneuver to one side to flank the enemy force and kill them all. In all seriousness, though, I'm not sure how effective these techniques will be since the enemies in the alpha and beta didn't quite act like humans do when under fire...
