As the title mentions, the following will be information on the 3 other Subclasses that are currently unusable in the Beta and my thoughts on them.
Unfortunately, I can't/do not know how to post pictures, as I have screenshots, but bear with me.
TITAN - DEFENDER:
"The wall against which the Darkness breaks."
MAGNETIC GRENADE - A grenade that attaches to enemies and explodes twice.
SPIKE GRENADE - A grenade that attaches to any surface and emits a torrent of damaging Void Light.
SUPRESSOR GRENADE - An explosive grenade that prevents enemies from using abilities for a short time.
JUMP upgrades are the same as a Striker.
WARD OF DAWN (SUPER) - Shape Void Light into an indestructible shield to protect you and your allies from harm.
ARMOR OF LIGHT - While inside WOD you and your allies gain significant damage resistance.
BLESSING OF LIGHT - Passing through WOD grants you and your allies a temporary shield.
WEAPONS OF LIGHT - Passing through WOD grants you and your allies a temporary increase to weapon damage.
DISINTEGRATE (MELEE) - Killing an enemy with this powerful melee attack creates a Force Barrier around you which absorbs incoming damage.
WAR MACHINE - While FB is active all your weapons reload and ready blindingly fast.
GIFT OF LIGHT - When the shield (FB) created by Disintegrate is active all your kills have a chance to create Orbs of Light.
UNBREAKABLE - FB continually recharges.
TITAN CODEX I - VI
BASTION - Increases the duration of WOD
RELENTLESS - Increases the duration and strength of the shield created by Disintegrate.
GIFT OF THE VOID - As WOD takes damage from enemy fire it creates additional Orbs of Light.
UNTOUCHABLE - Reduces the cooldown of WOD
IRON HARVEST - Heavy Weapon kills have a chance to create Orbs of Light for your allies.
ILLUMINATED - Increases the benefits granted by Blessing of Light and Weapons of Light
ILLUMINATION - Seals previous choices and grants Armor bonus.
This subclass will be OP as f%^k in Strikes and Raids. It works as a support-based Subclass. Not only does it defend yourself and your Fireteam from incoming damage, it also grants damage and defence bonuses AND a shield. The best thing, apart from all the above, it seems to have a lot to do with Orbs of Light generation. If you already don't know about Orbs of Light, they are bright orbs (duh) that are dropped after a Super is used. If collected, they decrease the cooldown of your Fireteam's Super. SUPER GALORE! However, this Subclass is TRULY effective when in a Fireteam. This may not appeal too much to Lone Wolves.
HUNTER - BLADEDANCER:
"Beautiful lethality, relentless style."
FLUX GRENADE - A explosive grenade which deals additional damage when attached to enemies.
SKIP GRENADE - A grenade which splits on impact, creating multiple projectiles which seek enemies.
ARCBOLT GRENADE - A grenade that chains bolts of lightning to nearby enemies.
DOUBLE JUMP can be upgraded to BLINK, as opposed to TRIPLE JUMP.
ARC BLADE (SUPER) - Charge your blade with Arc Light and consume your foes with lightning.
SHOWSTOPPER - Press R2 during AB to damage nearby enemies.
RAZOR'S EDGE - Press R2 during AB to unleash a destructive wave of energy that travels along the ground.
VANISH - Press R2 during AB to disappear from sight.
BLINK STIRKE (MELEE) - A powerful melee attack with extended range.
BACKSTAB - Hitting an enemy from behind with Blink Strike causes significantly more damage.
ESCAPE ARTIST - Hitting an enemy with Blink Strike grants brief invisibility.
FAST TWITCH - Reduces the cooldown of Blink Strike.
PATH I - III & WAY I - III
FLEET FOOTED - Increases maximum sprint speed and extends slide distance.
QUICK DRAW - Weapons ready immediately after dealing damage with any knife attack.
SHADOWJACK - Increases the duration of invisibility effects.
ENCORE - Killing an enemy with AB extends its duration.
STALKER - Gain invisibility after crouching in place for a short time.
HUNGERING BLADE - Kills with AB and Blink Strike immediately regenerate health.
ILLUMINATION - Seals previous choices and grants Agility bonus.
This is your stealth class, for all you lovers of stealth and the Rogue class in MMORPGs. Has a lot of skills that includes invisibility and would be most effective played with the "get in quick, get out quicker" playstyle. However, I can only see this class be TRULY effective in PVP scenarios. The majority of its strengths come from close quarter skills. Against Bosses, coupled with the Hunter's low Armor and Recovery, this may prove to be difficult. Can't deny that this class sounds baddass, though.
WARLOCK - SUNSINGER:
"There are flames that even the Darkness cannot exinguish."
SOLAR GRENADE - A grenade hat creates a flare of Solar Light which continually damages enemies trapped inside.
FIREBOLT GRENADE - A grenade that unleashed bolts of Solar Light at nearby enemies.
FUSION GRENADE - An explosive grenade that causes bonus damage when attached to its targets.
GLIDE improves to IMPROVED GLIDE as opposed to BLINK.
RADIANCE (SUPER) - Fill yourself with Solar Light, dramatically increasing the effectiveness of all your abilities.
SONG OF FLAME - While active, Radiance recuses all cooldowns for nearby allies.
RADIANT SKIN - While active, Radiance reduces incoming damage.
FIREBORN - Radiance can now be activated from beyond the grave. Doing so returns you to life.
SCORCH (MELEE) - A powerful melee attack that ignites enemies, causing damage over time.
FLAME SHIELD - Killing an enemy with Scorch reduces incoming damage for a short time.
SOLAR WIND - Hitting an enemy with Scorch knocks them back.
BRIMSTONE - Killing enemies with Scorch causes them to explode.
ARCANCE I - III & ANCESTRAL/CHAOS/DIVINE
RADIANT WILL - Increases the duration of Radiance.
VIKING FUNERAL - Enemies you ignite burn longer and take more damage.
SUNBURST - Killing an enemy with Scorch has a chance to generate Orbs of Light.
TOUCH OF FLAME - All grenades ignite enemies, causing damage over time.
ANGEL OF LIGHT - Aiming your weapon while in the air will hold you in place for a short time.
GIFT OF THE SUN - Gain an additional grenade.
ILLUMINATION - Seals previous choices and grants Recovery bonus.
Apart from the badass sounding skill names, my initial reaction to this was, "reminds me of a Phoenix", with that whole flame, resurrection, buff kind of deal. It seems to be primarily focused on self-applied buffs though, which is a bit of a bummer. I hope that Radiance radiates a type of aura, which members of your Fireteam, if standing in a certain radius, can benefit from as well. It would be nice if healing/regeneration effects can come into play, seeming how the Warlock has the highest Recovery rate of all 3 classes.
If you guys want to check this out for yourself, just head onto your character, hover your cursor over the Subclass, and press Triangle (or Y if you're on Xbox). #ShamelessPositioningToGetYouToRead. I couldn't sleep so I just wanted to occupy myself. Hope you guys like the content!

So there are 2 choices of Super attacks for each class?
-
From this the only real difference in a guardian is the person behind the character. So far the only real difference I have seen is cosmetic and the player.

Thanks for posting this 👍

Thanks man, it's nice to see a place with all the game info compiled like this.
-
The more I read about the Hunter the more it sounds like an operative dps in swtor. It even looks like one. I hope it doesnt play like one though because it generally sucks in PvP and relies to heavily on crits. Caught un-stealthed they just melt.
-
the third tier hunter jump is different. It turns into a blink.
-
Fantastic post.

Edited by Tyger: 7/20/2014 1:44:17 AMI can see it now, you will NEED a defender in raids. I can't wait to try these out. I'm digging the fire singer and I think blade dancer is gunna be super popular Also the blade dancer gets blink
-
Bladedancer is going to be a dream come true for me.
-
"Beautiful lethality, relentless style." so stoked!
-
First time I have read through all Subclasses and there potential roles. Seems pretty balanced while providing alternative options and variety during PvE and PvP. Since the announcement of Bladedancer, that has been the goal of my character come retail. During the Alpha I had played Gunsinger, but feel up close and personal DPS is more gratifying. Odd because in FPS games (Halo, Gears, CoD, and Battlefield) I have always sat easy playing aggressive sniper. On MMORPG's and Destiny though, playing as a Titan Striker has been very rewarding. My only worry is how the Bladedancer and Striker will compare when it comes to CQC DPS. Striker allows damage resistance during FOH meanwhile AB does not. Both has it's benefits, and am looking forward to the Subclasses.
-
I hope they separate out a bit with each class becoming just as important as the next. Defender is obvious and I was hoping Warlock was a healer.. I love playing the Battle Mage, it would be even better if I could do that while healing the Tank, who takes agro, and the Hunter goes in for close DPS or stays back dealing big sniper damage.
-
Oh that Bladedancer is somewhat ideally for my Ruby Rose character I'll be making for both beta and actual game....but then I could change that to my Vincent Valentine character xD
-
A lot of Bladedancers here. Am I the only Defender enthusiast?! D:
-
I wonder how they will balance out the invisibility for blade dancers because I can already see it becoming a major problem with stalker in pvp. People would just be sitting crouched in corners and when people walk by immediately throwing their grenades and killing the person before they even have a chance.
-
Thanks for posting this :D I only saw the arc blade one before this so now that I know all three they all seem really good. I can't wait to find out why the last 3 are.
-
Now my only question is this... Are there going to be 3 total subclasses for each class? There is an empty slot in the character screen next to the second subclass... And thank you OP, great post
-
Are the other subclasses posted somewhere else? I mean I like the list and I appreciate the information, but I think there's a few missing.
-
The jump upgrades are not the same for both hunter subclasses. In the blade dancer you can teleport instead of a triple jump.
-
Thanks for the info. I'm not sure ill invest the time to learn this but it's there to glance at. :)
-
Thanks you, and omg these subclasses seem like the perfect raid classes (survivability wise and mob control wise). Can't wait to test out the blade dancer and defender :)
-
I suppose that each class will be at least 3 in subclasses, one for each element present in the game: light, fire and void. I just don't get why the Titan has 2 subclasses based on light at the moment, but it sounds like Defender is a sort of "void light". So fire subclass is missing for him, void for Hunter and Light for Warlock (probably the healing class someone was looking for).
-
Just a nitpick, I know for sure the jump abilities are different for warlock and Hunter. Warlocks third jump upgrade is a buff to speed and control for glide, instead of blink that Voidwalker gets. Bladedancer's third jump ability is blink, replacing (I believe) triple jump. No idea about Titan.
-
After so much time with the spy in tf2, I'm definitely playing as a bladedancer
-
Bladedancer has all of my love, with the Defender being an easy second. I hope we can have more than 3 slots, it would be a shame if they released more classes with no available character slots to compensate.
