I have added a poll for this thread here http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/83631683 For better or worse, I hope everyone gets the answers they're looking for.
-
the new strike is the weekly heroic and nightfall this week hence your lockout I doubt it will be new strike every week... that said it still sucks for you and they should have had an alternative!
-
It's not fair at all, they could've set it as an "event" for those with the DLC and given them bonus rewards whilst keeping the normal nightfall for those without. I haven't bought the DLC (yet) because I haven't played much recently but stuff like this puts me right off. They didn't set weeklies to PS exclusives... Now I wish they had so people understood the situation better.
-
I have the dlc and I will totally back up your point. This is stupid. Don't bother with those people who who tell you how dumb and poor you are. Seems like Bungie forgot everything that worked just fine in Halo. I know Destiny is not Halo (thanks in advance to every fart-brain who reminds me), but certain mechanics can easily be reused in any game.
-
I purchased the DLC. I agree with you that players who did not purchase it should have access to everything that was included in the original game, and should not be locked out of the original content that came with the game. That's just bad business practices.

If you want, get over to http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/83631683 and cast your vote.

1. no. 2. poor dear... 3. one doesn't need as you say "mad paper". 4. you may need to find a job. 5.look bra, you're bitching like a kid.
-
Yes this is fair. Its just this week, and its the PRICE (get it) you pay for choosing not to purchase DLC (Which is super cheap) If you like the game enough to be worried about this, you probably like it enough to get DLC.
-
if you did the 2 option system for DLC owners you would be locking out the DLC owners from the original content and or the DLC content if they went with original play list.
-
Says people cannot be financially stable to spend 20 on DLC. Spends money on expensive console and game. Its only a week, get over yourselfs and play one of the dozens of other games you were financially stable to buy.

Took on what feels like the slimiest weight of the Destiny community over the last few days. Great community spirit on the whole, but the disgusting few who have felt the need to slam an entire segment of their own community have all but stalled my efforts. The poll is sinking faster than a Skiff in a thunderstorm. Thankyou to anyone who voted in favour. Not all have seen the importance of this thread, but those who have I salute you. I'm sorry I wasn't more successful for you guys. And to those who read this ready to slingshot me under the umbrella of attention seeking whiner, you don't know me so save it.
-
Why do they say extra content? I bought it already, but I mean, it's still part of the base game. All they are doing is selling our content back to us. They ripped it out of the game .
-
Why play the game if your not gonna progress ?
-
You are right I do own the new dlc but they should have had an option for people that didn't purchase. Maybe they should have let people that didn't get it play the new strike this week only as kind of a demo for people on the fence about it
-
More hoody hoo please.
-
These posts crack me up. I hope they do the new Strike every week for a month.
-
Started to read this then decided that running the nightfall this week was a better use of my time.

I'm glad to hear someone else realizes how much this sucks. Not because I haven't bought the DLC yet, which I probably will anyway, but because it has terrifying implications for the future of the game. Outside of the Raid, the Nightfall and the Weekly are the the most challenging and rewarding experiences in Destiny. You grab a buddy or two, kill some aliens and robots, then reap your rewards. But preventing people who haven't bought the DLC from accessing important high level content is wrong, especially when it was already present in the base game. Anybody consider how non-DLC owners are gonna get the strange coins they need to buy Xur's wares this weekend? If he sells a primary that I want, guess I'm sh*t out of luck, because I can't access the main method of earning strange coins. I only have 17 coins at the moment, and I don't have the time to invest hundreds of hours into a game, I've got about 60-ish so far. Or if I want to buy some exotic shards and upgrade exotics, well, I cant earn another 9, 18, or 27 coins to spend. I was going to wait until Christmas to purchase it, but now I have my doubts. I don't mind that DLC players can access their new content, they should be able to play the new missions for better gear. But even Call of Duty got this right when it came to DLC, they added separate matchmaking for DLC owners, and players who didn't buy the DLC could still play, and not have a serious disadvantage compared to DLC owners. The biggest advantage DLC owners ever had over those who chose to play only the base game would have been a few new guns, camos, and some extra maps for DLC only-playlists. I am not hurting for money, I just choose to wait before making a purchase, to see if it is really worth it. And to all of the people who possess both an extremely poor knowledge of grammar and a seemingly unbounded hate for people who don't buy the DLC for a game first day to access new content, telling them to put down the controller and get a job, kindly f*ck off. Some of us have lives, you know.

Simple Analogy: You go to McDonalds and order a regular size meal (burger, fries and drink). They then ask you if you want to supersize this. You answer "no, i'm happy as it is". The guy at the counter then says that as you didn't supersize the meal, you don't get your fries anymore, but the price for the base meal is the same. For the record, i have the DLC and am really happy with it. But to take away content for people who choose (for whatever reason) not to buy it is just crazy. The price is irrelevant in my book.

Didn't read everything,OP but i get the gist. This is not fair. No one was told this was going to be, essentially, a subscription based game. I mean, if you don't buy the DLC you are no longer able to use portions of the game. Sounds like a long protracted, albeit cheaper, subscription fee. True, you still have access to a majority of the game but those are the meat and potatoes for most people who play this. It's a huge portion of their play time that has been taken back. I have a feeling i'll be reading about a class action suit against bungie in the next few months. smh

$20 is hardly having "mad paper" lol I could make that with a lemonade stand. If you're not serious enough to spend that for a dlc that you have to have to go further in the game then why does nightfall even matter because you're forever goin to be left behind anyways without dlc. All new major games have dlc. It's the new way of gaming and for them to make money no matter what anybody thinks about it so you should probably get used to it or just sell your Xbox and stfu

Well, Well the time destiny came out i had a lot of fun, after the $hitload of patch and connection problems i still said to myself, come on dude, can´t be any worse from that point. but i came..... now the dlc is out (in germany for 35 €) which i think is more than just fu(kin expensive for a few things in it. i actually was about to buy it, but than today i went online and i saw they put nightfall strike on lvl 30 which isn´t the actuall problem, but that it can only played by once who buy the dlc is totaly fu(ked up. what would come next??? shut down pvp for those who don´t buy it??? just to make them buy the dlc??? i guess some ppl will be with me with this opinion now, and some don´t. for me i just can tell i don´t buy the dlc, because i have the feeling i will wast this money and future money to a game which bungie is fu(kin up with every patch or dlc. i feel so sad i haven´t knew it earlyer, well 70 € is gone for ever. i wish u a$$holes would give me my money back for this joke u call a game. if theres is any possibility ull give me my money back or at least half of it, let me know. i send u the bill with the cd directly..... and i know u b!tches just don´t fu[kin care, but this was the last bungie or activision game i bought. cheers

Bearbeitet von ZCKDrake4157: 12/10/2014 11:36:24 PMI get you dude, I have the dlc because I bought the bundle but I'm not really playing anymore. I understand your frustration at being locked out of something you previously had access to and it's unfortunate how many other players are being jerks. I hope bungie rectifies this in the future.

It's called marketing. Supply and demand
