Ummm it’s you all, not ya’ll. So I think you’re the one who can’t speak English.

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/Ummm That's weird, I can't find the word "Ummm" in the dictionary. Maybe it is you who can't speak English 😳 #Owned

Bearbeitet von Golden: 4/24/2024 12:21:57 AMhttps://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/y%27all It’s in the dictionary, it’s a real word. It’s also in the Oxford dictionary as well.

Lol I was thinking the same thing!!
-
Y'all and You all mean the same thing, one is merely abbreviated, you misplaced your apostrophe kind sir.
-
To be pedantic - Its actually a contraction - and should be “Y’all”.
-
I stand corrected, thank you.

Wrong 🤦🏿♂️. Maybe check Oxford and come back 👍🏿
-
Um tbh it’s literally y’all actually
-
What do you guys even mean with that? It might not be "proper" English, but it is a contraction that even Oxford dictionary acknowledges.
Also, it's y'all not ya'll.
I don’t speak Gen Z jive turkey!
-
I reckon that Y'all has wider usage likely outside of Gen-Z as its more often heard in the Southern US and Southeastern US. You don't need a dictionary to learn you that, most linguistic differences in the US have much to do with whom settled where. In the South it was mostly Colonial English and the accent reflects that in an old-fashion way of speaking.

Yep. More regional than anything. I live in Ohio, and never hear it. Traveled to TN last year and it's so pervasive it's the names of companies. Most certainly is a word though.
-
I’m an Aussie. We don’t really use y’all. I stand corrected though. I didn’t think it was proper English.
-
Haven’t heard jive turkey In atleast 20 years. Well done mate 😂😂😂🤷🏿♂️👍🏿
-
You DO know that y'all didn't start from Gen Z, right? I don't even think Gen Z uses y'all that often.

The guy made a post in a very non constructive way. So he got the replies he deserved. Could've easily made the point without being so hostile
