It doesn't matter if a person can or can't afford $20. You bought the base game. The base game came included with weeklys and nightfalls. You have had that for months. Now Bungie is taking that away. I don't care if it is once in a while or not. It's still taking an experience they're taking away that they originally sold you. I don't care if its for one week, base game owners are being given the short end of the stick. You can't get coins and you have one less opportunity to an exotic. No game should take away from the base experience. Games should be built to ENCOURAGE you to buy DLC ON THEIR OWN MERITS, NOT REQUIRE YOU TO KEEP BASE GAME CURRENT. Having to take something away is, once again, cheesing the players and taking shortcuts to development. Make the content worth owning...don't make it a requirement to enjoy the base experience they(I) already paid for. I bought the DLC and I still think it's unfair. I would be ticked too if I couldn't play the game as it was sold to me. After learning about the stupid exotic upgrade thing, there's a higher value to strange coins. This week I plan on jumping on the weekly and build a safe supply so I can upgrade my weapons. I'm glad I can do that....but that can't happen this week for base game owners. You provide great suggestions with your critical feedback OP and I CANNOT understand those defending this. I don't know why it is hard to have a non-DLC track. The answer is because they want to push you into it. If the expansion content is optional make it optional...don't sell off part of the original game with it. (and yes, even if it only happens once in a while it still is an experience taken away) Saying "wait a week" or " suck up the dough" is ignoring the principle issue and feeding the issue. No one is complaining about not having access to the new content, but they are complaining about losing access to an experience they had with the base game. Why is this hard to understand?

It's $20. If you don't have $20 to spare you should probably cancel your Xbox live membership, and sell your console. That's roughly a half hours work with a good job. Honestly, I played maybe 350 hours of destiny before the dlc. You losers paid for those 350 hours. Everything additional to that was paid for by DLC. That's how I see it. You buy a car and it takes you x ammount of miles. That car doesn't drive you infinity miles , so why in the fkn world would a $60 game last you for infinity hours. Stop fkn complaining, I'm glad how it works, and ill laugh everytime the nightfall if restricted to people like you. TLDR: If you work at McDonald's, you shouldn't be wasting your money playing video games. You should be going to school.

You're right OP. It's a scummy and anti-consumer thing they are doing. You are wasting your time trying to use logic and reason on here with the army of Bungie fanboys that will die defending them.

The only game where dlc takes away from the consumer. Pretty much theft. I was planning on buying it but since they're strong arming me Ima have to say FU Bungie.

You should NOT be able to play weeklies or dailies when they are DLC, unless you've purchased the DLC and there should NOT be a non-DLC option when the daily/weekly is DLC. If everyone who DIDN'T spend their hard earned money (like I did) were not at a disadvantage or got to continue to play exactly how they always have, than what exactly did I spend my money on? A $15 raid? You are so focused on being fair to those who did NOT purchase DLC. What about being fair to those who have? It's bad enough that everyone has access to the new equipment. If you ask me, people without DLC should not have access to the upgraded equipment either (or ranks for that matter). Be happy Bungie thought enough of you to give you the access to new equipment. People with the DLC don't think people without should have access to the new and upgraded gear (that would give us more value for our money spent), people without DLC feel they should have access to EVERY aspect of the game except the raid (and playing on a few levels - which would be worthless if non-DLC options were allowed). It seems like bungie did a pretty good job of compromising. Since both sides are not really getting their way (the definition of true compromise). If you ask me, bungie owes more to those who have given them more money (that's basic economics) and are being too fair to those who haven't, thus devaluing the DLC. Furthermore, your solution makes no sense and you clearly haven't played the DLC missions and strike. They are more difficult. Given the option to receive the same rewards on an easier mission or strike would render the DLC worthless and providing no choice to purchasers of the DLC (i.e. - non-DLC option for non-DLC users and DLC options for DLC users) would put the purchasers of the DLC at a disadvantage. $15 to be put at a disadvantage? Come on, that's ridiculous! Your solution would devalue the DLC further than bungie already has. And that's just not fair to those who DID spend their hard earned money on the DLC. Bungie has a responsibility to make the DLC worth every penny and allowing non-DLC users to participate in weeklies and dailies when they are DLC would be a slap in the face to those who gave them more money. Stop thinking of just yourself. Either cough up $15 or deal with not being able to do certain dailies/weeklies and quit crying about it on the message boards.

You paid for exactly what you get...if you don't have dlc then you don't get dlc content.....if nightfall happens to be dlc and you don't have rights to dlc then sorry....spend the cash and get the dlc....20 bucks isn't that much money...and if you going to spend 20 you might as well spend 35 to get both dlc

Could you imagine if you bought the next COD or Battlefield game, and once DLC comes out they only had one map rotation? Every time a map came on that was from the DLC, all players that didn't own it had to just wait 15 minutes for the next map, then they could resume playing. More DLC, more chance of waiting. I know that you could exit that server and find another, but hopefully you get my point. It would be horrible. Yet there would still be those (who obviously own the DLC) that would give this kind of advise: Just go outside. It's only 15 minutes. Just buy the DLC already. No-one promised you anything. If you don't like it quit and play something else. They gave you more guns for free, so it's okay. I think I am one of the few that owns the season pass, and still sees this as a poor tactic. If the DLC had not come out yet, and they took away the weekly heroic and the nightfall (even if it was for one week) these same people repeating the same nonsense would lose their minds. I have never realized that there truly is an overwhelming amount of people on this site that fail to put themselves in others shoes before forming a stance on a topic like this. I am a season pass owner. For those who aren't, for whatever reason, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you being upset about not getting to do the nightfall or heroic this week. You paid for a game that as of last week, and every week before that, had a nightfall and weekly heroic. That should still be there for you this week too.

You should've gotten the new strike for the nightfall and weekly. Then, you should've been locked out of the new Raid, the new missions, and all new weapons and Armor. That's how it should've been.
