Yeah it's disappointing. We paid $60 for a few missions and a dlc selling platform.

I'd love nothing more than to see a [u]Bungie Dev [/u]address these valid, lucid and civilly presented points. However, I have more chance of publically butt-banging Taylor Swift whilst the first incumbent lady-Pope gently strokes my danglers. Which is a shame.

I'm most disappointed in the lack of story. It's like they have an amazing universe there, but just don't want to take the time to explain any of it...like it's just too much work. I think Destiny is just going to be the game I play here and there to fill the time between games from GameFly. It's good filler, but a terrible standalone title. I don't see the series going on very far if they don't learn from the mistakes. Then again, people buy anything.

I have been playing games since I was 10, in 1976. I played MUDs when they were first out. Original EQ, DAOC, WoW vanilla during closed and open beta and for 5 years after that - I know grind and know it well. I am just tired of it. Very tired of it. I am disappointed Bungie. It seems that you excel at single player games with multi-player components as evidenced by Halo. Or maybe its the combination of Microsoft and Bungie that made it work? Not sure, but the new honeymoon with Sony doesn't look like its working out so well. When I first heard about Destiny I was actually pretty excited. The initial game demos actually deflated it a bit, but I thought it was just me and an early product. Unfortunately it actually hasn't changed much since those early E3 stage demos. The story is about the length and quality of a sketch on cocktail napkin. No offense to fine quality cocktail napkin sketches; yours just isn't of any quality - its dive bar kind of cocktail napkin quality. Your complete lack of social tools in this game is so disappointing. The number of times you said "revolutionary social experience never before seen on console" you would think you would have universal matchmaking and better grouping tools not to mention default fire team voice chat. But do you? Nope, its not there. So no way to communicate and make friends. So play solo? You can. Its not much fun and the scale of difficulty is horrendous in that some challenges are simply not surmountable without a fire team. So okay, I will hop into the ONLY matchmaking outside of Crucible available - strikes. Well that doesn't go so well as you can't talk to the people in your fire team unless they are on your friends list. No way to say "Hey, I'm sorry I just died in a horrible spot - DO NOT TRY TO REVIVE ME!" I still say this to my screen and curse and want to throw my controller because I had 2 seconds until I self revive, the boss is ALMOST DEAD AFTER 20+ MINUTES of mindlessly shooting him and the last guardian standing is - no longer standing. Great. Fire team mutely starts going to orbit, not willing to do it again, despite being close. Your graphics are amazing. Your sound and music are superb. I love to ride the sparrow. My ship looks cool on the loading screen... but I can't fly it. Bummer. The gun play is the Bungie hallmark gun play - some of the best in the business. Your content is.... A MASSIVE REPETITITION OF MEANINGLESS DRIVEL WITH NO REASON TO CONTINUE OTHER THAN LOOT THAT TAKES FOREVER TO BUY AND WILL NEVER DROP. Without engaging content it doesn't matter what else is there. Without communication I don't even have the drive to find and make new friends to play with and lessen the horrible grind. I have a clan and will play with them, but with my very limited gaming time (We own several businesses, I have boys that are teens, like to go outside, have a life with a gorgeous, smart, sexy wife and game all at the same time so gaming gets the shaft except when I can get in a couple of hours) I want to play something that is satisfying. Your unrewarding repetitive grind is not satisfying. Its like bad Chinese food - you choke it down, feel sort of full when you leave but 15 minutes later you are starving and think "damn I'm hungry but I am NOT going back there..." If you want to know what I had expected, due to your marketing and all of your interviews and presentations - I was hoping for something that was 10% of what The Secret World delivered. TSW is one of the finest pay to play MMO RPG games ever made. Its on PC only, but its a far superior product overall. Or even look at Defiance, that is on console. While that is riddled with horrible voice acting, the writing is tolerable and the story is fun and engaging and they rolled out episodic content and its gone free to play. There was a well concealed grind in that game and they always pushed the player forward and gave a sense of accomplishment. I can't believe I am saying this but for all of its faults, even Defiance is a better game. Unfortunately you have fallen to the Zenimax/Bethesda level for me. The Elder Scrolls Online, as bug ridden and disappointing as it was, was a better game than Destiny as far as content goes, but it also showed that Bethesda, like Bungie, excels at single player games but is TOTALLY clueless when it comes to online multi-player. Oh and TSO has a projected LONG life too so that's not an excuse.They launched with a great deal more content and had less cash to develop with. When they straighten out their console issues and launch it on those it will be interesting to see what happens. Its not a good game IMHO for a variety of reasons and there is a grind there but its not nearly as blatant and in your face because the content is varied and there is VARIETY in the game. I will play when I feel like it and I already bought your next two expansions in the Digital Guardian edition (stupid choice for me - oh well). I am sure I will check those out since I bought them and my youngest son loves it (he doesn't have thousands of hours of grinding like I do so he doesn't know better) and my eldest has given up because "we have a lot of better games to play Dad. I am 47 and have been gaming since its inception back in the BBS days long before WWW even existed playing MUDS. I have played and tested just about everything coming down the pipeline in 35 years. I have done massive amounts of grinding in the past and I have also done massive amounts most recently with Destiny. Due to a severe illness I have been couch ridden for two weeks. Therefore I have logged on almost 3 days of play time so I think you can agree that I have a pretty good idea of how this game functions. With that said the stupid update to kill the loot cave (I didn't concern myself with it one way or the other) killed my ability to farm anywhere in this game for my Ascendant Shard upgrades. I wrote a post up in feedback which has obviously been buried. However, in short, with that much time invested there needs to be a return. I am already sick and tired of running the same areas over and over again. Bungie wants it to be a MMO but its far worse than a free to play. They can't decide what this game should be. Tote it as living, breathing, world where I create my own Destiny. Any type of player can play right Bungie? WRONG! End game is grind to upgrade gear to do raid that's it. Don't get me wrong, today's gamers are not like the old school days; they are self entitled complainers with no form of objective disagreement. The game world is fantastically beautiful and FPS mode is staple Bungie. However, they know nothing about MMO mechanics and have failed miserably at trying to conceptualize this into their game. The game has no idea what it wants to be honestly. After two solid days of heavy farming every nook and cranny, world, zone, events, strike, crucible, queen; everything but the raid I have failed to get a single Ascendant Shard. I need to 40 alone to upgrade my current gear and I cannot get into a raid in my current state. Here's a clue Bungie; your not an ARPG,not even close, and I would rather grind Diablo 3 for gear and get more fulfillment. I am kicking myself for buying into this glorious hype train. I contributed it to Bungie's history at making killer games. I should have known better after the Activision acquisition. It took Blizz how long to turn D3 around? Totally agree, I too have been gaming for many years and I am very disappointed with the never ending grind. I have put many hours into this and do not feel I have achieved anything or that I ever will, I am glad I have not purchased the expansions etc and would not put another penny into this game. Roll on farcry 4!!

This game wasn't made by Bungie it was made by Activision and had their name stamped on it. I could not imagine those who created Halo being this damn stupid.

As a fellow older gamer - I couldn't agree more. It's 2014 and we got 1993 Doom with fancy graphics. In fact Doom at least made exploring necessary and rewarding, and it had 28 levels - in different areas with puzzles to solve. All the half a billion dollar graphics in the work cannot replace basic gameplay, and I'm sorry but the "got to catch them all" pokemon grind for gear is not enough motivation for me to grind out story missions over and over again. What are we gearing up for? So we can play the same level on a slightly higher difficulty - but you've leveled up too so its actually the same.... Wow.

-lol funny stuff 100% right on.i said this in beta did they listen?nope. today I was doing a world event on venus.i was soling it till about 40%.the mobs had to come to the thingy,and do some type of manouver before you had to kill them,and have them count towards the kill count.some guy showed up at 40% we got it to 80% then for the next 5 minutes he killed everything that came close and we got bronze because he wouldn't let the last two come to the alter.hmmm wonder how loud I was yelling because its one of the few ways to get shards and buddy was messing it up for me?well loud,the controller made the most noise.unfortunatly it was quite broken in the process of hitting the floor..... ya cant talk,cant group.games fun,getting a bit bored.sorta am looking forward to halo now.will I be back after?i dunno,i didn't last long in defiance after I realized that they were keeping me gimp on purpose.
