7/7/07.
Sure, there was a similarly numbered day back in the 70s. Way back then, the nation was enraptured with Star Wars, several Bungie employees weren't even single-cell beings, Frankie was running amok and surviving stab wounds in Scotland and Bungie, well there wasn't even a Bungie back then. But now there is and the importance of the seventh day of the seventh month in the seventh year is not lost on us.
First off, if you've got an Xbox 360 log in and poke around the Marketplace for new Gamer Pics and a Dashboard theme. We don't want to spoil the surprise, but the free Bungie-themed Marketplace goodies may replace some of those Gamerpics you've been using. One image features a wise Bungie-staffer with a very real and magical mullet.
Over in the
Wallpapers Gallery, we've uploaded a lovely painting for you to ponder and consider decorating your desktop with. You've seen parts of it on the cover of U.S. enthusiast magazine Gamepro, but this is the full painting spread out before you. The image features a classic Red versus Blue encounter with some equally and mayhaps more interesting shenanigans unfolding in the background.
Better than Fiction
We wrestled some pages from the story bible away from its keeper, Rob McLees, in order to give a little bit more detail on the just-announced Chopper and two Spartan MJOLNIR variants, the E.V.A. and the C.Q.B. Included on each page is a 3-D movie/screenshot (aside from the Brute Chopper page, which sports a pair of the quicktime images). In order to view them, use the left and right arrows or click and drag your mouse through the image.

Codemaster and genius extraordinaire Adrian Perez told us a nugget of 7/7/07 trivia this afternoon while Frankie and I were embroiled in another match in our long running multiplayer rivalry. He said, "Did you know that tomorrow (7/7/07) is the most booked day in the history of Las Vegas weddings and has been so for ages." He read this
somewhere on the Internetz and I believe him. Good luck, folks.
