Fail. It's one of those one word catchphrases that swept through the Internet sometime in the not-so-distant but ever-so-murky past and instantly embedded itself as a meme loaded with tons of meaning. It's become so pervasive, in fact, that the monosyllabic expression is often heard outside of the digital confines of the World Wide Web to accurately sum up someone's less than successful attempt at just about anything. Stuff like pole vaulting, or parallel parking, or like that one time you played in the Bungie vs. The World playlist and got your ass kicked.
