This is the Blue Filter you'll use to finely tune your display.

The Blue Filters for fine tuning your audio video calibration are now available in the Bungie Store. In order to locate them, click on "Accessories" and then "Multimedia" -- this first supply run of Blue Filters will be available free with any order from the Bungie Store.

How to Use the Blue Filter

First, it's important to keep in mind that the Blue Filter is in no way, shape or form required for your enjoyment of Halo 3. In fact, this filter is for A/V purists like Frankie, who obsess about refining their picture quality in a way that the average human being probably wouldn't even notice.

Next, make sure you've done some research on your television and know if its "special enhancements," game mode, cinema mode, there's too many to list are helpful or harmful to your gaming experience. Configure those (or unconfigure those, as it may be) and pop in your Halo 3 bonus disc.

Using the A/V Calibration tool that comes in the Limited and Legendary Editions of the game, Sgt. Johnson will bring up an image of Cortana, and looking through the Blue Filter, tune the Color settings and then the Tint settings.

When you see the above image of Cortana, look through the Blue Filter and click through your color settings until Cortana becomes a smooth blue. Once you think it looks correct, click past the "correct" settings on your TV by one or two clicks on the remote and make sure that the image begins to look incorrect -- in this case, the smooth blue color would begin to break up, showing different shades of blue on Cortana.

Repeat the above steps for the Tint setting, following Johnson's instructions and using the Blue Filter. Complete the remainder of the A/V Calibration tool's instructions and enjoy your finely tuned setup.

Out there, past them trees. You see it? I see you.

Hot on the heels of our Guardian Postmortem it's a good time to take a traipse through the wooded spaces that encompass Guardian's ancient platforms. This week's Tag and Release features a set of images that show off the surrounds. Hopefully, they also show off our community files collection.

Firefight Friday: Lost Zoo

Up for a challenge?

HBO's FyreWulff prepped a new menagerie designed to deal death to any ODST daring enough to drop into Lost Platoon. No matter what difficulty you play on, he's got an animal that'll keep you engaged.  Jump into the ring!

"First week after launch, a new challenge for all difficulties! Drop into Lost Platoon and battle it out on foot - no vehicles are allowed. And have fun with the Wraith - the Laser has been banned from use.

The site is still in beta at the moment, but it's got a spiffy layout now. Should be out of beta in not too long."
