Subject: Non-Mythic DLC REQUIRED for Team Slayer?!

I seriously need more gamerpoints!

About time the Legendary map pack got required! I prefer playing Team Slayer on Blackout then Isolation and such.

Most of us have been waiting for an YEAR to play our legendary map packs in Matchmaking. By now, everyone must surely have the LMP so I would say it's quite fair. We payed for those maps, thus, we show our support to Bungie and they will reward us by giving us more playlists and gametypes to play for our money given!

This is gonna be fun! Hopefully I'll see some Blackout for Flags!

Not quite what you said. You said a single playlist for non LMP users. What he said was ALL playlists to be used without DLC requirements. I mean seriously, what are the odds of finding the same person twice in Team Slayer when there are 10000 people playing? Can't be very high. I personally (Who can't afford the 20(!) dollars 'cause I don't have a credit card) think that idea would work perfectly. You keep the non-LMP owners like myself happy, 'cause we can play SWAT and Snipers, and keep the LMP owners happy 'cause they can play the LMP easier than ever. Or, just make a number of playlists, like, Legendary Slayer, and Mythic Slayer, Legendary Objective and Mythic Objective. Either one, would make everyone happy. Now, can you explain to me how that wouldn't make you happy?

Forgive me, I've only scanned thru the multitude of responses on this thread, but is seems that one important point has going unaddressed:

The near absense of any explanation as to why we were suddently locked out of Team Slayer.

We've been playing for over a year and suddenly it just says, "One or more players doesn't have the maps...." WTF?

Oh, and in the description of Team Slayer it says "Non-Mythic DLC Req."

What in God's name does that mean? What is DLC? Do I have that? I have no idea? Are my map packs non-mythic? I have NO idea how to even check that?

Not to mention the poor grammar in the abreviation: The abbreviation "Req." is capitalized why? Is it part of a proper name? Or does it mean "required"? If it simply means "required" ... why it it capitalized?

The testers and PMs who created this situation need to go back to boot camp.

Shame on your for a thoroughly confusing and enfuriating user experience.

Just because you're too cheap to buy them, does that mean that people who paid for them shouldn't get thier money's worth?

DLC is downloadable content and NON-mythic means every map pack other than the mythic map pack

I probably would if I hadn't just spent almost all of my money on a wireless network adaptor so I could play online and buy th map packs. And next on the buy list is a years gold membership. Then probaly ODST. They are high on the what i want list but there other things above it.

i agree that its not right and people saying that it means just cuz we wont pay that we are cheapskates its just you have to pay £40 to play on xbox live why should we have to pay extra to play on what we alredi basically paid for. it isnt right and its not fair because now all the people who cant afford the maps or cant pay for them as they are too young cant play nd that leaves them stuck playing the same things or having no choice but to pay.

I can't understand that sentence. It is very weirdly worded.

I thought so too at first, but its right.

What he means is he bought the map packs and he wants to play them in matchmaking, but if its not required to have the maps then people like the guy who made this thread can enter matchmaking and if it just so happens they get matched up against each other then masterful justin cant play on a DLC map in this game because the other guy doesn't have the maps.

Halo 3 - $70
Xbox Live/year - $50

You know, some people like me cannot afford to buy these things. Sure...its only 10 bucks, but that is not proper management of money when one is on a tight budget. I paid 60 bucks for Halo 3 which means I should have full access to single player (which I do) and full access to multiplayer. Now....the people who spent 60 bucks for the game, and lets not argue with "if you are tight on money, why did you buy Halo 3 and a 360 in the first place?" bull-blam!-, are no longer able to have full function of Halo 3 as they used to. I find that a bit unfair.
What I propose, is that bungie finds a way to allow all multiplayer modes accessible to everyone regardless of what map, and the players without the maps will match up against other players without the maps.
Bungie's matchmaking system is the best, right? Surely they can set it up that way.

Wrong, Multiplayer is an option, not a Has to be in to make the game, hell they could make you pay to play Matchmaking, why because you agreed to the Terms of Service etc. You've got Halo Xbox, and XBL why can't you buy something that's less then a fraction of that total.

It always amazes me when people complain about paying for this sort of stuff.

I work in a game shop and the amount of customers who moan about having to buy map packs, subscriptions for Live etc is astounding. They always hand over their money anyways.

No-one minds paying for their satellite / cable TV, do they?

It doesn't make sense to me since the page on this site that tells you what maps are required, still says it's only Heroic that people need to play online on matchmaker. If they did just change it, they should give a little heads up.
I heard it's just a glitch, i've had it happen before, but not for this long. I'm waiting on legendary to download. Might as well use up what's left on my credit card.

No one can complain about them not warning us.
Please read the weekly updates.

They have stated since before the Mythic Maps came out that nearly every playlist would be requiring all "non-mythic" dlc and most would be requiring all dlc.
