I just noticed it in the video 36 seconds in... a message from the SI to 'Maddie' - was Maddie one of the other Spartans? I can't remember... but there were a few that weren't counted out as dead at the end of Contact Harvest...

I was about to make this same thread.

Maddie is definitely not a Spartan.

That message appears while SI is running down a list of alert messages. I'm guessing it's either a joke on the part of the people making the trailer or else it's meant to establish some level of personality on the part of SI. Remember how the AI on Harvest used to socialize? Maybe Maddie is another AI and that message was just inserted there in the past as part of some interesting exchange between the two.

Some people do have that sense of humor though... We're the ones that society normally looks down on. But I doubt the message has anything to do with that, you guys are just reading a little to far into it there.

To be honest, I didn't even associate those two things. It's just pure coincidence and I'm sure relevant somehow to the story.

COMPUTER GAME COMPANY MAKES SICK MADDIE JOKE

Makers of the ultraviolent Halo computer game for the Xbox videogame console, Bungee, have made a reference to Madeleine McCann in a trailer released on their website and on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, asking "Where are you, Maddie".

The trailer, showing off the apocalyptic exploits of a computer known as Si, was soon the topic of discussion in Bungee's own Halo3 forum, some people completely missing the obviously sickening imaginations of the game's creators and childhood-destroying influences of what the trailer was advertising.

Kate McCann had this to say to Bungee: "What? What are you talking about? ...They probably have a character called Maddie, I don't know, stop harrassing me every time I step outside!"

We'll have more as we get it.

I can't believe Bungie would put such a thing in a trailer without knowing the consequences, I mean, they must know about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. I'm sure they have their reasons and it probably is just a name, but in context "Maddie, Where are you?" - it's not very clever of Bungie to do such a thing, I smell a PR scandal if this gets distributed.
