Subject: "Im on Fire" screenshot gave my friend Rrod

So we went in to doubles and they sent us both screenshot mssages, I wasnt stupid enough to veiw it. But my buddy did...So he got lagged out and his xbox froze.

I still beat the kids, but later I find out he got RROD.

Bungie you need to get on this.

wow that sucks. yea my friend sent it to me then my xbox and pc turned off,i thought it just overheated but he called and said it was the pic. really i thing it's one of the things "if your dumb enough to do it you deserve it) but i didn't know,it's been 2 days now and belive it or not alot more people know than you would think but still look.

1. if a random or recent player send you something don't look at it
2. if you get one ingame mostly it's on fire
3. reporting is up to you (i didn't report my friend,but told him to chill)
4. have water ready

The screenshot does no damage. The game does not know how to deal with the coding of the screenshot, so it decides to freeze the hardware. If there was a virus, the 360 would be running unsigned code, which is impossible.

Or the other impossible answer is someone figured out how to sign content, which is again, impossible.

What? Thought you'd find something here? I don't exist to entertain you.

The bad screenshot being distributed is able to turn off and/or restart your console in what I'm guessing is one of two ways:
1. It executes a shutdown or restart command.
2. It triggers an error to which the system responds by automatically restarting or turning off.

RRoD indicates is a hardware failure that the system self-detects at startup. It cannot be caused by a bad screenshot, as there is no "cause RRoD" command. Your friend experiencing RRoD after receiving the bad screenshot is a matter of coincidence and nothing more.

It does not have a firewall, and there is no virus, the only thing that can possibly give you a virus is a modded map, that contains lots of files that can be changed within the map to be potentially harmful. i said pc not 360...
