THE VIDEO

That's right! Version 2 is here! All that greatness of Gallery 1 is back, with alot of improvements. Gallery 1 had over 400 downloads a 4 star rating, and I'm hoping that'll go up for v2

First off, I'd like to mention that the map is now REALLY much better if you get the game variant too! Now it not only gives you infinite ammo and the really cool scoring system, but also spawning with secondary weapon the sniper rifle, so you don't have to go to The Armory every time. It also allows you regenerating grenades, a real bonus, cause now you can practice your sticking ANYWHERE.

Alot of people have problems with accuracy, whether it be leading their shots, sniping, sticking, or even just hitting a target. So I've designed a map that allows people to practice aiming. Normally you can just play a game with friends and that's practice enough, but what do you do when there's nobody on, your internet is out, your Gold Subscription runs out, Xbox Live is being updated, etc.? You play on Gallery.

Now, let's get to the good stuff. I COULD go on for a half page telling you guys about all the improvements to the map itself... but I'm gonna let you guys see for yourselves! It's all here in this great video on YouTube. It shows off the map from just about EVERY ANGLE. It allows for newcomers to see how great the map is and for v1 users to see all the improvements. Plus the music is a bonus.

The map is also playable with a group of friends. I did it a while back and it was really fun. 5 people using it with 4 of us having guests on the rails. It was a blast, and we were trying to see who could get the snipes first.

If you were a Gallery 1 user before this, you can skip the instructions, read the footnotes under them, and the download the map.

THE INSTRUCTIONS:

"So how do I use these facilities?" you might ask. All you need is a 2nd controller, which many of us have, and an elastic.

Here's how it works: You turn on the 2nd controller and start the game. One player spawns on the "rails" and the other spawns on a platform. (If the player that you want to be shooting with is on the rails, just switch them as it's easy to jump on and off the rails.) Once the right player is on the rails, take the controller that controls that player. Wrap the elastic around the left thumbstick and tie it forward by pulling the elastic over the left trigger all the way to the back of the controller. It sounds complicated, but if you've ever used an elastic to tie something before, the mechanics of it aren't that complicated.

Whew! The tough part is done. Now, you can enjoy the map for its purpose. By now, the other character is running forward constantly. Because of the teleporters at the end and beginning of the "rails" the character will keep running forward on this path, and you'll never have to adjust it again. The rails have the only respawn point, so you won't have to go through the whole moving the guy back onto the rails again. Now all you have to do is pick a spot, pick your weapon and let the shooting begin.

*** Once again, please report all bugs etc. on here and I'll be happy to fix them.***
*** Comments would be appreciated, even if it's just a "Looks cool, I'm downloading"***
*** Last but not least, DON'T FORGET THE GAME VARIANT***

I find it hilarious how the first one has gotten at least 10 downloads since the post of the second version. Do people not know the new one is out?

haha I'm glad too, it would have been a shame for me to have worked on the improvements to the map and the preview video so much just for it to get condemned on the first day.

No problem! Thank you very much and I hope you enjoy it.

P.S. Gallery 3 is out, it's the first one on my file share. It's really quite innovative, and I find it's alot more practical than a guy running in a straight line. In that one, the target actually strafes. Gallery 2 was also released, it's basically Gallery 1 v2 with grav lifts so there's alot more movement to practice on.

in your picture it shows like 3 bridges fused together. how do you do that? how do you put the bridges through each other like that?

  • 05.12.2008 8:04 PM PST

I think he overlapped them. Cause you can see how the one closest to you looks a little bit above the other one. It is probably just the perspective.

yeah, it's all interlocked. All you have to do is place one of the objects you wanna interlock where you want it. Then, when you have it selected (doesnt have to be grabbing the object, you just have to be close enough to have a green reticle on it.) go to the "spawn at start" option and put it to no. Then, hit start and hit start new round. When the new round starts, go to the spot where you want the interlock to be. As soon as the respawn time for the object is up, they should be interlocked. This of course takes a load of practice. If you'd like me to show you, send me an invite sometime and I'd be glad to.
