if you knew there was such a way, why would you not know how to do it? There is no such way to determine host in Halo 3.

Great white athletes are the same as mexican couples without children....they're very rare

You can't find out like you did in halo 2. And that makes it better, then people can't use that as a reason that they lost. Alos the host advantage isn't nearly as bad as it was in halo 2, you can't really tell who has host. In halo 2, you could usually tell even without looking, because there was such an advantage. The new system is so much better.

My name isnt John. My profile and gamertag may lead you to believe it is. My profile and gamertag names were created for my favourite Halo character, Sergeant Johnson. But "Sergeant Johnson" is too large.

I thought the host was the guy who hosts the match and invites players. Or maybe there is a way. Normally its the host who plays as master chief in co-op. And once even though i was the guy who invited friends i was still the arbiter.

Ya its definatly not as easy to know as it was in halo 2 i was just wondering becuase my friend got stanbyed in doubles and i was wondering if the kid was getting bridged or if he just pushed the button every game to see if he was host, becuase he didnt cheat in all the double games he played, or atleast he didnt win everygame so i assumed he was just going in hoping he would get it then standbye when he did.

Host in Halo 3 can kill the things "flying" on the maps. Like the birds on Guardian- if you can kill them, you're host.

The Sentinels on Construct and Iso- kill them, you're host.

The birds in Pit. If you can kill 'em, you are indeed host lol.

I know in the Beta if your voice lagged before the game began, you were host. I don't know if that's still the case, I think it is.

But for the most part Host advantage is minimal, unless it's a bad host. Then you notice it.

im gonna go try that now... I think you may be able to tell who's host if you wanted to view a custom game because before a film it says you have to give party leader to the person who has the best connection.

The ability to kill something like a bird or sentinel only increases as you are closer to the host. I've played custom games where everyone has been able to kill the birds on the pit. Such a test as killing the flying things on the map only determines a good connection with the host, not really whether you are in fact the host.

to tell if your host in forge; look down turn into monitor and turn back human and if your still looking down then your host. Also in the pit there is CCTV cameras and if they follow you then your host (theres a few cameras, one where the shotgun spawns). Iv heard the bird thing is true but havent tested it yet. and the advantage for being host (for me) is the ability to equipment jump if you dont know waht this is its where you jump and at the peak of your jump throw only a radar jammer, deployable cover or flare at your feet and jump again [jump off it] which gives you double height, apparantly you can only do this as host but if your timing is perfect anyone can do it.
