Does anyone get disoriented from playing Marathon? I feel that the left the run button on or something about the game but it's making feel sick to my stomach and I get headaches. I'm not the only one my friend gets it too. It's the 360 version.....

I got pretty sick after playing for a good while in Survival mode. But now that I've played it a bit more, I've kinda gotten somewhat used to it.

Something that helped me a bit was setting the look sensitivity a bit lower. I usually have the look sensitivity set low when using the mouse in Marathon on my PC, so it's something I'm used to by now. Another thing that might help is experimenting with HD graphics turned on and off. It could help. You never know.

Why do people in ship munities always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth you'd get allot of free games.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Anything you say or do can be used in YANW.

you know I get headaches....

Yes, in fact it is the only reason why I'm not downloading the full version. The game was fun and interesting, but after just 15 minutes I had to take a break.

Bungie, if it's possible, please push for a 30FPS version or at least an option. If you did that, I would buy it the second the news of a patch hit my ears.

I don't get sick, but afterwards my eyes kinda feel funny. Like i've been playing for hours and hours in a dark room, but I've really only played for 1 or two hours...

I can't play for more than 5 minutes. I came here to see if it was just me getting sick. Seriously a 30fps option would be great. I really wanna play this.

Old and lame. Pay no attention to what I say, I am merely chasing faded glory.

IGN had the same problem. I am about to go download it, but I think that if there are widespread complaints then there will probably be a patch.

Observer Notes on progress of Mass Marathon Subliminal Control Project.

On deployment day plus one:

Subject 2195606 states borderline awareness of time dilation effect. Describes the event as his "eyes feel kinda funny". Subject does not verbalize any awareness of the project or the control that is being exercised by the subliminal control system.

Recommendation:

Continue with project and monitor reports via XBL, Bungie.Net, and wiretaps. As this is still early in the Plan, we cannot afford to let simple side effects such as nausea and mild disorientation distract us from our ultimate goal of World Domin.....

Wait a second. Is this transcription program typing into the reporting system or into Bungie.Net?

Oh my God! Turn it off, turn it off. Turn it...

As "Tasmaniandude" mentioned, turning down the look sensitivity seems to be helping a lot of people with the motion sickness problem.

Unless you are used to quick-twich action, don't try...

If you want to see a game that causes vomiting from extended play and arch-barrel-roll-circle-spaz maneuvers: behold!

July 15, 2008... The day the timer stood still.

Depends where I am and how stuck I am. I've gotten to the point of "wtf" and started running in circles. I noticed more that my entire room lit up when I fired the assault rifle.

Oh, and ladies and gentlemen, even with only 3 programmers at the time, Bungie knew what they were doing. Lava = bad. I learned it the hard way.

I only played for make 45 minutes and I feel sick. Of course, I get motion sickness rather easily. I guess I won't be able to play this game, which is a shame because it was fun when I tried the demo >>

The Halo series has created fun times and memorable moments. Making online friends with completely random people is something you can never forget. Thanks Halo 2 and 3 online!

Ensemble Studios fan. You made great games, we're going to miss you buddy! Hello Robot Entertainment, we'll see you on your first project!

I've been playing Marathon on a few long stretches and never had a problem.

Witty? Screw that.

It only made my eyes ache a bit. But then, I only played the trial... I haven't coughed up the cash for the full game yet. I plan to do so eventually, though.
And as someone said above, IGN said that this game gave them motion sickness - in fact, it seemed to be their biggest gripe about the game.
