I think the biggest part of this is the last line.

"They will lead you to war, and perhaps, to victory.'

I believe that perhaps, just maybe something different will happen this time. The activation of the rings is only a temporary solution. The threat of the flood will rise again if we take the same path as history once took. However there is some way, to win the battle once and for all.

This could refer to the Rings, and maybe they are being rendered ineffective because of spatial drift?

I think this refers to the war between Humans and the races of the Covenant. It might imply that we need to band together to beat the Flood or some other threat

But for the grim tidings this messenger bears:

The enemy is almost upon us

Closing in from all sides,
Moving faster than the light
it snuffs with its passage,
Time echoes with the news of destruction.
History winding back upon itself.

This is most definitely referring to the Flood. The Flood defeated the Forerunners, so that links up with the "history winding back" line.

Waves of an army march this way in unison, Suffering and corruption are its battle cries.
For I have known this darkness
and felt its embrace once before-
Horror best laid to rest

Whoever is speaking (AR?) must have suffered at the hands of the Flood.

Yet a Journey must commence

Look for the signs, the keepers of the flame.
They will lead you to war, and perhaps, to victory.

I haven't an idea what this means. Maybe a new race? Maybe the Monitors will make an appearance?

I thought this was from a covenant view, but it clearly says as the title of the document "Forerunner Email"

Is it covenant or forerunner?

That's enough for me. It does sound as if it's the Forerunner(s) who are writing it. The mention of history repeating itself also seems to locate the poem in the present (in-game) time, which means... that some Forerunner are still alive. Or perhaps only their subjects, i.e. the monitors.

I belive that keyes is the speaker.

1.he says he is a messenger
2.He says he has felt the horrors e,brace before.

my conclusion is that he is acting as an emissary from the flood,there voice.How it happens that keyes gets this way,I'm still working on it.

Yeah but that was Truth speaking from a religious fervor. It sounded to me when I heard the line that he was almost trying to convince himself that the Forerunners weren't defeated. 343 himself says that the Forerunners activated the rings to wipe out the Flood.

The elites were once very religous and devout to the Halos and the covenant, but now they have switched sides. But this could all be talking in third person again, as where the covenant started the war, but the victory part is the fact that some of the ex-covenant are going to help us out and gain victory.

so it probably is a monitor on the wall and maybe this was a warning to future existences about the flood and the inevitable war maybe the forerunner knew the firings failed and made this message in case it happened again

Fairly obvious here. We have an enemy, soon to be upon us. The Flood

Say hello to Flood in slipspace coming fast.

Again, the history circling thing. The Flood return to battle Humans(Forrunners)

The messenger has known this darkness, fought this enemy. It was a 'horror'. So presumably something/body we have known before, that will come back. The messenger - the MC, the Darkness= the Flood.

MC must face the flood, and activate the Halos


Look for the signs, the keepers of the flame.

The monitors of all the halos, their flames are the index.

But what is f.chtah.com? I googled that link, and I got two links about bath soap? A Google Search just seems to come up with a bunch of nothing, so the f.chtah.com part is basically nothing.

----- I think this is talking about the war between the Humans and the Covenant. While both sides are killing each other, they should be fighting the Flood together. It's also saying that the Flood have no limits on where they can go in the universe. This "messenger" is trying to tell them to work together.

----- The Flood is such a quick and destructive force, that it will bring the universe back to a time where it all began. No Human or Covenant.

Indeed he did, and the only other person I can think of who has survived the infection is Sgt. Johnson.

But with the line "Yet a Journey must commence", I'm leaning towards the possibility that this passage is Covenant in origin, and in order to know more we need to determine who the keepers of the flame are, and treat them as signs.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that i am right, but does anybody think RvB could be a part of this I mean the last two episodes have been kinda like this with the repeating its self with one person\thing remembering it tucker\gravemind, and even changing it like gravemind can do with all of history every move is the same every time the rings is fired, or in RvB Wyoming dies it fells similar, but hey its all crazy theories anyways
