^^ This is the error message I have been getting since yesterday. I am an Xbox 360 owner who did not previously have a credit card listed on my account. But after browsing the forums and the solution listed on the front page announcing the release of these new maps, I went to the 360 dashboard and added a credit card to my Xbox Live account. Still, I get this error message. Now I've got a credit card on my account that I didn't want on there in the first place and can't even get the maps to download. WTF?!

I created this thread because I haven't seen that many people say they've gotten an error message like the one above, but something along the lines of a premium content download error instead. So I'm just curious as to how many 360 owners are getting this specific error message. I'm really irked that there isn't no response yet by Bungie letting me or anyone else for that matter know what the problem is and when it'll be fixed. I was really looking forward to getting back into Halo 2 and playing these maps.

But in the meantime, does anyone who has gotten this specific error message have a solution to what I could do and get these friggin' maps downloaded already? Thanks in advance for any help!

I got this message several times, It took me creating a Silver account to actually get to the Purchase/Don't Purchase screen, then I started downloading, but then I got an 'installation failed' message.

I decided to take my HDD to work (there's an X360 here) and tried again, but now, I'm getting your 'Purchase Failed' message instead of the 'installation failed' message.

Just so you know...I think the maps save on the Xbox not gamertag. Wouldn't want you to accidentally purchase maps twice.

It'll get to the download screen, but when it does, it simply goes by really quick with the bar full in a matter of seconds, then I get the error message. Doesn't make any sense at all to me. There are people out there who are getting these maps for free and I can't even pay my $4 to play them, lol.

I am getting this same message of "purchase failed" I am in the same boat with adding a new credit card as well. This is some bull bungie get you act together and help out your loyal fans. Tell us how to fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes same message here. i called 800 4my xbox and they were like just keep trying it because of all the people the server is bogged down. but it sounds like a bunch of crap to me. they never have any answers to my problems. so in case any of you were thinking about calling dont. its just a waste of ten minutes.

Okay.. I'm having serious problems now.. I tried to download the new maps and I got this same message... and then it started working but now it says "installation failed.." and now I tried to redownload every map pack and the "Maptacular Pack" is doing the same thing! I'm stuck without 8 or 9 maps now! What's wrong?

NO... and if i did tht would suck.. i downloaded them when my parents were gone to... so if u failed it would of suked so bad... cuz as soon as i was done they walked into the house..and i was grounded

yea i got this message also and ive kept on clickin download almost 500 times these last 2 days but still nothing...why couldnt bungie have put the new maps on a disk that we could buy at the store...even though its only 2 maps it would save all this trouble
