Long live the banshee and RBTB!

yup..actually i should clairfy its a friends account

  • 04.17.2007 10:16 PM PST

Same problem here.

My 360 thinks that I've purchased the blastacular pack (ie the new maps) and the download screen goes very very fast and then gives me the install error.

When I look in the system blade / memory / disk / games / halo, I don't see the new pack there to actually delete.

I am teh sad.

Yup - same here. It says purchased, and I have the charge on my credit card, but my 360 refuses to download the maps.

I changed credit card to valid card, on 360.
Then I went to download and the first error message said my
credit card was cool, and that the content had failed and I wont be charged again.
Or something of that nature.

The next time I tried ti said installation failed go to www.xbox.com.
Well couldnt find anything there.
So I turned off xbox 360 and tried again and got the same error.

So I came here and was browsing and saw this post and decided to post.
This really blows, because I had to go out and by a new Copy of Halo 2 because
my old one was pretty badly scratched. My kid knocked over 360 while I was playing
Halo 2, and I got a big ring around it. Never the less everything was cool until the update
when they deleted the map cache off the xbox 360 and made you have to reload all
the maps all over again. So I havent played Halo 2 since the update a couple of days
ago. Then I had to go to 4 different stores until I found a copy, and I get home and
I cant even play the new maps and it dosent look like one of the known issues.

Because Bungie has posted a list of known issues with getting the updates.

That may explain my problem. (i'm also on a 360). I just downloaded the update and maps earlier tonite.

I also got the failed notice after I downloaded and PAID for the maps (i even got an email receipt from xbox.com)....
I can play it solo custom, but when I try to play RP, it says i'm missing maps. After I log in and log out several time, different accounts, still no help, and only now NONE of the downloaded maps are available for a custom game...just disc maps.

So now it looks like I have to waste my time and redownload ALL the maps.

Thanks Bungie for the update. Way to waste my time downloading AGAIN! I'll send you the bill for my lost time.

Beyond Reflexes

Well I have tried a number of things.
Yeah I called of course there closed and there automated dude cant help me.
Xbox.com sucks because they have an automated thing there as well cant help.

Things I have tried to no avail.
1. I have tried downloading the files over and over.
I tried 25 times in row then restarted and 25 more times. Nothing.

2. I have changed my payment option to a different credit card on the Xbox 360 - Nothing

3. I have tried logging in with the two other accounts I have on my 360 - Nothing.
(My main account is the one I had from my Xbox and imported over .)

4. I updated my info on xbox.com billing section and tried again. - Nothing

5. Bought a new disc before I tried downloading the maps so its not an disc issue.
(Regular game works, Regular Ranked, and non ranked games work)

6. There is no info on the 360 in the memory section that even shows anything new for
halo 2 just all the old map stuff.

7. People where talking about premium content stuff well I dont get that error
(I get failed content installation error.)

8. Credit card has been charged. (When I check later in the morning it BETTER ONLY BE ONCE. AND NOT 125 times.)

9. I have tried also everything I have read today in the forums from other people short of making a new account but everything else.

10. I downloaded my old map files so its not an issue of did I get them off the disc or not.

Just Blows.

I'm getting the same error message.

I wasn't sure if the credit card on my account was still valid. I tried it, got an error message about not being able to charge the credit card, so I put in a valid credit card. Then I tried to download the new maps again, it charged my credit card but it won't download the maps - giving me the "go to xbox.com" error message. By the way, this is on the old Xbox. I tried deleting my Halo 2 file on the Xbox HDD, and trying again. Still didn't work...

By the looks of it quite a lot of people are having this problem. It seems you're aware of the 360 problem with people who have no credit cards on their accounts, but this is different and affects both Xbox's and Xbox 360's, and it doesn't look like there is a work-around.

Please fix it...

This is making me upset i dont want to download this for jack crap.....hmmm its definatly not easy to solve...

  • 04.18.2007 12:35 AM PST

Yeah I'm really annoyed with it because I've been charged for them. I've paid for them and I wasn't even able to download them. A fix better come through soon or at least some feedback/announcement from Microsoft about it, not impressed.

I have no "corrupted file", but if I delete my WHOLE Halo 2 folder, then use the Map Pack Disk to intall the other maps, would I then be able to dowload the 2 new ones?

Not sure if I can be of some help but I had the same error on my 360 and I tried for a good 10 times. And then I also came to read all about it here. But about an hour later, I received my email confirmation about purchasing the map pack and so I tried again. I had absolutely no problem after that. Now not to say the email confirmation did anything but I think it's just server problems, continuously trying at different times of the day I think is best.

Ok that didn't work. I'm getting very angry with Bungie here... this isn't funny.
